This place was recommended by our friend so we came here after a day-long hike. It took a while until one of the waitresses actually noticed our presence and came to take the order. Even while ordering, it became clear that the approach will not be very flexible (such as it is not possible to order bryndzove halusky without bacon and instead to have some cheese etc). Moreover, after making the order, we expected that the drinks would be served first but we were wrong. After 20 minutes, two soups came one of which was cold. The waitress apologized and promised to heat it up. The main course came after some 45 minutes, in a disorganized manner (one of us got halusky, another one did not). The attitude of the waitress was very unfriendly - her argument was that "I have a full restaurant so you should be actually happy that we serve you". Eventually, her attitude became openly hostile and she ignored our requests (such as to bring some salt as there was none left on the table). Unfortunately, it will still take some time until people running restaurants in these beautiful places in Slovakia realize how important it is to keep some level of service provided to clients. I hope that this review will not only be helpful for those considering this restaurant but also for the owners of the property.…
We were recommended this place by our local friends. Thats maybe the reason why my expectations were sort of high. The food was really bland, tasteless but not the worst, just subaverage. The staff was very very nice, they made some mistakes in the order but fixed everything to our satisfaction. Maybe I just picked wrong food — though I picked from the “grandma’s specials” so I would expect that is their flagship stuff.
Of you are returning from the exhausted hiking, or doing just small (5km) for a walk from Museum of Orava's village, you will find place for refreshment offering typical regional specialities. Waiters are nice, the waiting is not to long, and dishes quite tasty; during sunny weather you can choose outdoor table what allow you view on the peaks of Western Tatra
Beautiful family owned little hotel in traditional wood style in the forest. Sindlovec is closest accommodation to Rohace-Spaplena ski resort, 10min walk. Welcoming owner, kind staff and traditional cuisine. Apartment was spacious (2 floor), clean and nice. Breakfast was rich for choice and dinners are managed “a la carte”. Bryndzove halusky are super tasty. Hotel is as well good base to hike in the summer.
Love this restaurant always with very caring staff, good food, with burning fire and stunning decoration. Cucoriedkovica is MUST try !!! Or roasted of local cheese as a starter is a nice and tasty option.
We went here with my family, together 8 adults and 2 kids. Food was good, but nothing extraordinary. We had a garlic soup, chicken soup, some chicken breasts with broccoli, ham and cheese, fried cheese, gratin broccoli, grilled cheese "Ostiepok", and Slovak filed dumplings "pirohy". I was disappointed with "pirohy", it was clearly a semi-cooked fabricated dish, not a homemade dumplings you would expect for the price. Nice surroundings, well equipped playground. Unfortunatly no changing desk for a baby. Nevertheless, nothing better close to Rohacska doling.
We came here after a long hike, really starving so we would eat anything. We ordered food: bryndzove halusky and pork snitzel. The halusky, which should be their signature dish were by far the worst that I've eaten in a very long time. It was litteraly tastless mush. The schnitzel was very fatty. Although the place looks nice i wouldn' recommend eating here.
We came only for dinner after our trip through the "Roháče". We started with soups. We had traditional cabbage soup and it was so delicious, but garlic soup was not so good. But what was disappointment was "bryndzové halušky", there was too little bit of "bryndza".
This place is the place to visit for traditional local food. The ambience is traditional and very cosy. Prices are very reasonable and the service is good enough. The restaurant is located in the middle of the forest.
I only ate at the restaurant and didn't stay in their accomodation, however, if the restaurant is anything to go by, this would be a great place to stay. Service is v friendly and even on a busy day no long delays for food. Food is excellent, the trout was excellent, as was the garlic soup, sheeps cheese and the deserts. Given the location, prices are very reasonable. As for the location, you are right by a number of very nice walks, suitable for all levels.
