Penzion Sagan is located in a picturesque village of Štefanová under the Rozsutec Mountain in the Malá Fatra National Park. It offers accommodation in wooden cottages made from ecological materials. All rooms are decorated with wooden furniture, hardwood floors and natural colors. Some rooms feature a balcony overlooking Vratna Valley or Rozsutec Mountain. Guests can start their day with a breakfast buffet every morning. A restaurant at Sagan Penzion serves traditional Slovak cuisine and features a terrace. A bar with a selection of hot and cold drinks is also available. After an active day spent hiking in Malá Fatra, guests can relax in the stylish sauna made from cedar wood.

This was our base for a few days hiking in Fatra. Top quality accommodation, fantastic food (especially brekky) and really helpful team. Pretty much the best place I have stayed in any mountain area. Can't recommend it enough.

We chose this place because of a good location and we were not disappointed. It’s directly on the way to Diery or Rozsutec. There are two buildings and due to our late booking we were separated from our friends. Their room was a bit cosier and warmer (the one in a restaurant building), ours was on the ground floor, renovated but cold, with terrible layout and no fridge around. We complaint about a few things and everything was sorted immediately, except the fridge. But we were given a discount in the end as a satisfaction. The breakfast was o.k. – for that money enough, I think. Wi-fi worked perfectly. The owner/boss is probably a fair person but could smile a bit more, say hello and ask if everything is o.k. - that would definitely make people want to come back.

This pension is new, furnished in local typical style, clean and with reasonable prices. It is located directly on turistic trail which is very comfortable. There were some miniature shortcomings, like broken light in bathroom and damaged shower door. The restaurant offers very good halusky (local typical food) which you must try but except this we could get just daily soup and variety of fried meals. One would like to get some vegetable or pasta for change.

Lovely place in a lovely nature. The view on 'Rozsutec' and Mala Fatra in general was amazing. I sleept there like a bear :). The lift in Vratna is very close, and we enjoyed the winter hiking a lot, cause the location is for it very suitable. The room was nice, new and we felt there very well. The sound of the water from outside was calming and making me sleeping very well. I liked very much the traditional slovak kitchen, drinks. The owner as well as the waiter were very nice. I will return there.

A very nice apartment in a lovely village close to the hills and nature.
The service is excellent, the foods are very good, the room is clean and all the things are good quality. Not a five star hotel but more than what you expect from a place in the nature.
The location of the apartment house is perfect. The forest is very close, just a few minutes of walk. It is an ideal place for a hiking, biking, telemark ski, trip.
There are good tracks for different peaks. For instance you can hike and climb on traps and ladders in the brook to Rozsutec what we really liked.

This hostel is located near the start of most known wallking trails in the area. The rooms are small, but cosy with new furniture. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. There was only one small disadvantage in this hotel. The walls are too thin.

Stayed here recently, accommodation is modern and very clean. Great location for amazing views and good base for walking. Very pleasantly surprised by this place, excellent value for money too! Would recommend.

Great location for trips, the tourist routes start virtually behind the hotel. The atmosphere is very friendly the guys who manage it are easy going, but professionals. Cosy accomodation, breakfast simple, but sufficient. Surprisingly good coffee for the area.
Definitely suitable for family with small kinds (our case) and couples (my parents).

Very nice purpose-built 'boutique' pension; we had a fairly small room, but comfortable, warm, and well equipped, with a lot of nice, thoughtful touches, both in the room and elsewhere (like an outside sink for cleaning boots, and indoor bootwarmers!). Obliging and helpful hosts. Handy for the "Janosikove Diery" yellow trail, which starts right outside the door. Decent breakfast, if perhaps a little bit pricey by Slovak standards.

This is the perfect place to stay for a a quick ski trip weekend, it is very close to the slopes. The staff are excellent and the rooms are very nice. There is a restaurant on site, they have an outdoor sauna and a new indoor spa with a hot tub. They offer free wifi for all of the guest. I can not wait to go back.
