We had a superior double room which meant we had a small balcony (though no balcony furniture) and a nice outlook towards the hills. The room was a reasonable size and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a shower over the bath but no bath curtain so the shower was not great. There were lovely walks directly from the hotel. The Resturant served typical Slovak meals- hearty and meaty and the service was good.

The "hotel" is situated in an amazing village, with beautiful nature and trecking trails. The "hotel" itself, is more of a big mountain hut and offers exactly that: accomodation and food for those on their way to explore nature. You get basic service, rooms which are rather outdated but good enough to rest and shower after a long hiking and a restaurant that gives honest food for hungry travellers. Everything is decent and very simple. Don't get too excited about the title of "hotel" :)

Even the equipment of the hotel is old, you have everything you need in the room, it is clean with friendly and helpful staff. It is located in the entry to the hiking paths. If you like nature and spend well-earned moment in hotel restaurant after spending hours of walking, then it is hotel for you

Hotel - fine reception (but you neetd to have attention on your payments, sometimes they forgot that you paid deposit) - Breakfast are supper (more than continental) - Super-Breakfast room is opened all the day for hotel guests for pause, playing game, reading books... with water and original coffee (coffee is really good) Hotel rooms - Clean - With very old furniture min 25years ("they say", there are rooms with latter one, but i'm not sure about it) - Dirty, but vacuumed carpet - Nice and Good fille de chamber - Dirty interior walls Restaurant Koliba - good selection of meals - Very, very simple soups - Very, very slow crew (I waited more than 18 minutes for first contact of waitress, with lot of queries...) - its help, when you have small children and they hunt in front of…

We were lucky that our friend suggested us this place. Right outside the hotel all the trek points start. There is free parking. This is a family run hotel and people are extremely good. We stayed only for a day but it was worth it. The breakfast is really good too. Highly suggested. Choose a room on the 3rd floor with the view of the mountains.

We stayed here for one night as a transit from Zakopane to Bratislava. The waterfalls trails start from the hotel which is very convenient. Staff very friendly and most of them speak english. We were given an upgraded room as they were available. Room was big and spacious and comfortable. I recommend eating at the resturant as it is very cheap and very delicous!

This hotel is really brilliant. It is situated in the heart of Mala Fatra mountains, so all tourist-paths are only few steps away. From the window you will enjoy wonderful view over the mountain. I know, the furniture is older, but it also makes the hotel something special. The bed was very comfortable, TV fine, internet connectien very weak - but you do not need internet connection on your holiday:) In the night you will enjoy a real dark, you will not be disturbed by city lights. Staff was very very nice - everything was possible. The restaurant Koliba was also great - traditional Slovak food full of taste and love of cooking. You must visit this hotel.

We took this hotel as it seemed a good location, and looked good online. We were very disappointed. The hotel is advertised as 3 stars, but is more like a 1 or 2 star (at best). The restaurant was nice, but that has to be the only redeeming factor. There were a number of issues with the hotel: 1) bad quality, old, furniture, dating back to communist times 2) when we arrived, the toilet had not bee properly cleaned (we complained and were then given another room) 3) no hair dryer in the room, and poor quality soap/shower gel (from a dispenser) 4) there was a shower head in the bath, but no shower curtain, so the floor and the rest of the bathroom was wet once taking a shower 4) the heating did not work properly (it was winter - we were then given a heater, which helped only a…

We chose this hotel for a couple of day's stay in the beautiful Mala Fatra purely due to its proximity to routes leading to Maly Rozsutec via the Horne Diery Gorges, and we were not disappointed. It was deep winter, yet the room we had was warm, spacious, with a comfortable bed, pleasant furnishings and a view towards the start of the trail head. Free Wi-Fi was available. The breakfast area was, however, rather weird, looking more like a Soviet era canteen than a restaurant and the fare wasn't up to much either. There never seemed to be more than a couple of rubbery fried eggs left! But the cosy log cabin style Koliba restaurant sporting sheepskin on the benches and rustic furnishings more than makes up for breakfast-time deficiencies and serves tasty Slovakian dishes including…

Very good position to trips in Mala Fatra - Diery route and trip over the Maly Rozsutec mount starting in front of hotel. Nice food in Koliba restaurant, specially traditional slovak foods - halusky, harula, pirohy. Breakfast is a bit poor, no fruits in order. Accomodation in good smaller rooms (for family). Free WiFi.
