The room was really spacious and comfortable, but checking in took us a while. We had to wait quiet a bit to check in as its in the restaurant/bar area where you have to check in. No one really spoken any languages, so it made it even "funnier". We stayed there only for one night while travelling to Krakkow. As the bar is under the penzion it was really noisy until about midnight or so. In the morning we got up in time so can leave for Poland in time (we planned to leave around 9 am), but the bar was shut. We couldnt find anyone who speaks english, so luckily I had a print on me in Slovakian that we would like to get our breakfast, then the guy pointed at the door that they only open at 10 am. So we went for a little walk, looked at the Zvolen castle and had a little wonder around until 10 am, so we can have our breakfast, By then there was a girl who could speak english so it was nice. Breakfast was nice. Had a hot drink and some nice food. At the penzion bit everything is written in Slovakian what made it a bit hard to figure out anything. I think it would be nice if they some stuff written in English as well so if some people visit around there, they can get the information what they need too. It was raining outside and inside when we left...it was actually raining in the building the floor in the corridor was soaking wet and the windowsills were too.…
I have eaten here several times and never been disappointed, the roasted pigs knee with veg selection is wonderful and a good selection of Czech and slovak beers. never stayed there but if your looking for some good slovak and beer in Zvolen its worth a visit,
Hard to give much positive feedback regarding this establishment. The staff were not over friendly or welcoming, The room although spacious was uncomfortable, with very thin foam mattresses. Although breakfast is included in the basic room price drinks with breakfast are not included, we were not told this until after we had finished our breakfast. Also breakfast is only available when the bar is open which on weekends is not until 1000. This too we only discovered when on Saturday at 0830 we tried to get the breakfast we expected. On a positive note there is a fridge in the room and the bathroom was OK. Location was also OK for the centre of Zvolen but frankly there are better towns to stay in this area of Slovakia.
