Amazing stay. 2 weeks in quarantine with best team full of Big heart and comittment. Hotel and Restaurant absolutely TOP SERVICE, 10 out of 10. All Guys taking care about us were everytime full of smile providing best service not as a job but out of their heart full of love. I am vegan and they made such an amazing “job” I cant described it by the words. Even for our “Christmas dinner” on 12/12/2020 the evening before departure to Canada they made a vegan style of typical Slovak Christmas dinner same style our Team had just cabbage soup with soya sausage insted meat and fried soya steak replaces fried alasca fish (actually it was very similar taste as I do remember from many years ago). If you would like have such a Wonderful experience I can recommend to visite this place only. ❤️❤️❤️🇸🇰🏒🇨🇦🎈💪🏻 …
İn the centrum of zvolen. There is free parking area. The reseption emplees are so honest. Hotel roma are quite small. İn TV There is just sk channels.!!!! There is a lunch area, a bit expensive but good service. Breakfast not much alternatife but well.
ok only here for one night, but welcoming staff, friendly and helpful. rooms very nice, comfortable and well equipped. clean and fresh. would defiantly stay here again, breakfast buffet excellent, bar to the rear very relaxing and a great place to chill.
Checked in on a Sunday evening to be told no restaurant or bar on site on a Sunday due to no staff. To get access to the rooms the lifts go to the half floors and then you take stairs half a floor either up or down. If you like the colour brown then these rooms are for you, everything was brown / beige. The shower door came off in my hands as I went to close it. There is no air conditioning so you need the windows open which wouldn't be too bad except for the railway level crossing warning bell going off every 20 minutes. Breakfast was next door and it was plain awful. Coffee and juice had run out, there was no milk for cereal and the hot plate area looked like it needed a clean. Suffice to say I got out of there as fast as possible. On a positive note the lady at check-in was pleasant and was apologetic for the lack of facilities available, the bar and restaurant being the reason I booked this hotel over any others, oh well, lesson learnt.…
Two nights here as I visited family in town. Nice, comfortable place, friendly and helpful staff, reasonably priced. Convenient location, just a couple of minutes walk to Zvolen's fantastic town square and the castle. Parking was easy and convenient.
I found this hotel via internet, where was picturees with nice and new furniture. It looked fantastic on pictures, but reality was a little bit diferent. Room was clean and cozy, but furniture was older. Bed had comfortable bed, but not good pillow. Breakfast was perfect with wide offer with willing service with nice interior. Hotel is in the centre of town,
We stayed at the hotel one night on our way back from Kosice to Bratislava. The only positive fact about the hotel is the breakfast- rich and tasty.Upon arriving no one told us that that is no hot water in the shower and when we find that this is the situation it was too late to change hotels. The elevetor stops at half floor so one has to carry the luggage a couple of stairs. For the price paid (59 Euros) you can surely find a better choise.
Popped in here for lunch while passing on business. I was a really unusual hotel restaurant where time appears to have stopped in the 1950's. The food really enjoyable and the service was excellent, the recommended local red wine was very nice. I would highly recommend this hotel for lunch or dinner so others can experience the unusual ambiance and decor at very reasonable prices.
This review is based on a number of visits to the Restaurant at "Hotel academic". The first thing that everybody should know is that Hotel academic and its various restaurants and bars are part of a institution that trains young Slovak students in all aspects of the Hospitality and catering business. Those that serve you are all Learning.. and for that reason it is fair to expect that occaionally things might not be quite the same as you would find in other hotels, restaurants or bars. Having said this, I must also say that I have been coming to this restaurant every few weeks for over 10 years, and the quality of food and service here is far far better than in the majority of slovak restaurants accross the country. Yes, sometimes there will be mistakes, but these are fixed quickly and courteously .... this certainly cannot be said of many other places in this country. THE FOOD Academic offers several places to eat from several different and regularly updated menus.. In summer there is a terrace outdoors with menus made using seasonal ingredients.. they include a selection of fresh salads and soups and main courses of some rather refreshingly clever re-interpretations of classic slovak dishes, which I and my Lunch partners have always been more than happy with. Anyone who has a generally bad opinion of Slovak cuisine should try these and perhaps reconsider.. They also have a fine downstairs restaurant which offers a regular and an A la carte menu.. both are very reasonably priced. The thing that makes Academic different is that the dishes on both menus are all well concieved and always have something a little bit special about them. I have tried many dishes over the years my favourites this year have been the Soups as starters.. ans a superb Fillet Steak.. cooked to order and served with sauce and side order as you wish.. I always go for green pepercorn sauce and chips. My partner always chooses something different and I steal a spoon or two and it is always good. Even a seemingly simple risoto is full of flavour and as I said, theres always a nice little touch to make it stand out from the ordinary old food on offer in other restaurants. Any critisisms? Well.. when we order wine by-the-glass it is sometimes not so "fresh".. this is probably because the bottle sits around for a while if not many people order it.. I reccomend buying a whole bottle (from their separate wine list)..it will be freshly opened for you and the price is good enough that you will not feel it too hard in your wallet ! back to my first reminder that this place is part of an institution that trains young slovaks in the business.. sometimes their will be mistakes.. ckeck the bill in case there has been an adding-uperror.. this only happened to us once and was swiftly and satisfactorily solved. and do not be afraid to tell them if there is something missing or if you need something fixed.. they will be truly grateful that you pointed it out and only to happy to resolve any issues. overall I really cant find any complint about food quality or service in this place. I already very much look forward to going again.. maybe tomorrow :o)…
You can be sure that this place can surprise you the way you would not expect...One day you feel great and the other you feel unwelcome. The point is that the staff here is so complicated...You can feel lack of management work here and lack of staff training...
