Booked by local supplier for my business trip. Room sufficient for one night, curtains fall off when closed. Worst of all, minus 2 outside and radiators cool in evening, night and following morning, not acceptable in winter. Even the receptionist had a plug in radiator and confirmed that because the hotel manager doesn't feel the cold he can't see why guests do! Hello manager, welcome to the concept of customer service, it's 2014 you know and I paid to freeze in your room!

This is the second time I have stayed at Hotel Podhradie.
While this is a fairly basic hotel it is however spotlessly clean.
Staff are very friendly, helpful and generally spoke good English.
I had a meal in the restaurant which was served hot and very tasty.
Breakfast had a reasonable selection of hot and cold food to choose from.
Would I recommend this hotel, absolutely for a short stay is a great choice.

Great place for a wedding for up to 60 guest s. Great food, very reasonable prices, attentive staff and management.
Hotel is business customer oriented but still they know their stuff when it comes to weddings and leisure guests.

This hotel is run for the benefit of its staff – not its guests. The hotel is 3km away from the town centre (therefore with a captive audience), yet they close the bar and restaurant at seven on the weekend. There is a fridge with some bottled beer behind reception. Once this has been sold, it is not replenished. “Is there any more beer?” “Bar closed.” The chamber maids seem to have the weekend off, too.
When I used to run bars and hotels, we would have a weekly meeting with all the staff and anyone could put forward ideas aimed at improving our levels of service. I can only imagine that the staff meetings here are geared towards how best to frustrate and upset the guests.
Breakfast is hit and miss. One morning there was a full buffet, but on one morning there was nothing at all as “no one had ordered”. We didn't know you had to. Some mornings there were flasks of tea and coffee, some mornings you had to order.
The majority of the staff are pretty unfriendly. There was a major enquiry on the second day as to who had eaten breakfast. I was asked three times if I'd had breakfast.
I reported the radiator in my room broken. It wasn't broken, the hotel hadn't turned the heating on, in spite of night time temperatures of seven degrees.
The corridor lights came on automatically during the day, but not at night.
The general feeling I got was that guests were a bit of an inconvenience here. Hopefully, their inconvenience will soon be over as no one in their right mind would stay here.

The hotel was very disappointing. The room was a nice size, but the beds were extremely hard making sleeping very uncomfortable. Half the curtains fell down when you tried to close them, making privacy a difficulty. Despite it only being 12-13 degrees outside the heating was not working, making the room feel cold. No shower curtain in the bathroom, and shower was handheld. Big bug found crawling on the carpet. The restaurant was nice, food excellent and staff friendly and helpful.

Outstanding, the rooms were amazingly clean and staff were so friendly and helpful, we had had three rooms for our stay to visit the local sites and family and the facilities were more than expected and could not ask for more. Perfect for a family

Stayed here for the second time during business trips. Not outstanding, but good hotel. Simple clear rooms, quite good restaurant with a nice terrace in summer. Nice and friendly staff, speak German and English.

I used to stay in this hotel for several weeks during the year when in PB There was nothing else.

The hotel is clean and recent. Breakfast is the minimum you can expect. Rooms and neighbourhood are clean. Room however didnt have airco nor minibar. Drinks needs to be ordered at the reception. Rooms have internet via cable, wifi only around reception. Friendly staff.
