Two of us stayed for two nights at the Tundrea Holiday Resort in Kilpisjärvi. This is just across the border from Norway in a very remote part of Finland. We booked last minute and Tundrea looked like the best option. There is a lot of accommodation in the area but it gets busy during the ski season. Tundrea was well...

Truly idyllic winter spot. Fantastic cabin, very cosy and beautiful. Really magnificent! We stayed in February and it was really warm inside. There was a washing machine, a hair dryer and a sauna!! And everything you needed in the kitchen. The first morning our breakfast was a delicious breakfast basket we ate in the cabin; the 2nd morning we had...

We stayed at a Saana cabin January 12-15th and found it very cosy. It is intended for 8 and we were just 2! The beds are all essentially singles with a strange, removable, foam mattress with a sheet covering arrangement. However they were comfortable and warm. The big plus about the cabin is the large wood burner and private sauna...

Kilpisjarvi is a bit of a one horse town- a bit spread out with a few amenities- a petrol station, 3 eating places in the centre as well as some other stores probably more of interest to locals .Type in 'Kilpis webam' on Google if you want to get a flavour- it updates images several times a day. The Tundrea...

We spent a whole christmas week in tundrea, in a beautiful, spacy and comfortable flat, very well insonorised so we felt just like in an individual cabin. We enjoyed individual sauna as well as sauna and jacuzzi on the lake. The hotel is run by two young, very dynamic and friendly brothers, who would do anything to help you enjoy...

Kipsiljarvi isn't an ideal place for... almost anything. But since we found ourselves there hunting for the aurora - Tundrea was an OK place to spend the night. When we were there - the restarants were closed - which made the kitchenette in the cabin very usuful.. The supermarket closed relativley early in the evening , and the since we...

Wow, words cannot describe this. Our trip was amazing, we saw the best Northern Lights ever! Even though it was not winter yet, this place showed us the real magic. We just stayed out for hours just watching and taking little walks during the show to keep us warm. Our stay was just superb, we recommend everyone to come to...

We stayed here through a booking with Off The Map Travel and this was our Finland leg of the Grand Aurora Tour. I loved this place. I loved my chalet which was cosy and homely (there were ornaments and candles. Honestly!) and warm with good heating anyway but also the option of having the log fire on. Loads of room...

We stayed here in March 2015 , we had come to Kilpisjarvi to see the northern lights and have some fun snowmobiling. The cabin we stayed in was on the edge of a frozen lake and the views were stunning, also well equipt and very clean. There is a supermarket not too far away which sells enough to get by.We...

I was with a photography workshop group in Finland and the Tundrea was where they had us staying. We were in two cabins and two apartments; I was in one of the cabins. Our cabin was wonderful. The living room is cozy and equipped with a wood burning fireplace that we enjoyed on occasion and a TV we never used....
