Where to begin!! What an incredible experience we had at Himmerki! The cottages are so cosy and have all the comfort you need! It is like a Christmas village!! The view over the lake is really nice and you can make nice walks over the frozen lake. The activities were so fun!!! We had a fantastic experience with the husky's and the guides were great and helpfull! Also they give a lot information about the life at the husky farm. The reindeer farm was also fantastic! The animals are so beautiful and kind to people! The snow scooter drive was a real adventure! We drove in the dark so you had an amazing view in the frozen forest! Our guide was also really helpfull and funny! Then the ice fishing!! What an adventure and fun was that with Oiva!! A real local with so many nice stories! The ride with him on the snow scooter was fantastic!! Then Suvi, what an incredible woman! She was always there for us in all we need and we had a really fun walk with her in the NP! She explained a lot about the park and the history! Then all the people at the reception and restaurant... Everybody is so friendly and kind and it feels like home here! Everyday we had an amazing dinner and the food is really tasty with all kind of local products! The owners Helvi and Reijo are so sweet and fantastic people! They tell you al lot about the beautiful nature and life in Finland! Definitely recommended to visit Himmerki for a real Lapland adventure in the beautiful nature and warm atmosphere! Thank you all!! We had an unforgettable time here! Kristel and Chi from Belgium and the Netherlands! …
We were living in lakeside villa with a beautiful location and view over the lake Kitka. The amenities of villa were superior with some genious details. Sauna was a disappoinment because it is only for two. - We had dinners in their restaurant. Haikkuburger was delicious, the beef excellent. Sautéed reindeer and minute steak just avarage. - The place to relax and accommodate in villas in front of lake is an excellent choice and higly recommended.
A wonderfull place to be. Clean air, beautiful surrounding and you feel very welcomed by the owners. Enough to do and the Northern light was stunning. We had a perfect time at Himmerki and would love to see what its like during the summer.
We have stayed here last January for a snow safari. The place is unique, the atmosphere magic, the food delicious. The cottage we received for our stay was one of the biggest next to the lake. There is a sauna inside, a kitchen, a couch in front of a fireplace, the entire structure in wood and a little and romantic balcon with view of the lake. Himmerki staff is wonderful: they are very kind and available for planning changes and even pick up to the airport or to excursions.
We spent one night in a lakeshore villa. Villa was new with all modern comforts. Beautiful location on sandy shore of lake with absolutely fabulous sunrise. Excellent and friendly service. I would hesitate to stay here again.
We got the himmerki suite which is their most expensive cottage. It was so spacious and worth it. 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor and 1 on the ground. 3 toilets but 1 shower area. It has a kitchen, living and dining area, sauna, washing machine and drying cabinet. There was no instruction on how to use the washing machine so we could't get it to work. The himmerki suite looks new and clean. It is also a few steps away from the reception/restaurant area so that is another plus. The property is some distance to the bus station but the kind owner drove us to the bus station to catch our bus to Rovaniemi. So happy with our stay here.
We spent 4 days in a lovely chalet overlooking an iced lake: what a view! The location is stunning! Food is great. The atmosphere is very intimate. The owners are very, very nice and make your stay there special. They also organize super cool activities (reindeer, husky, etc.) We strongly recommend this place.
We stayed twice in this holiday villlage in June 2015. First, we rented a summer cottage ("mökki") in log cabin style, which was stylish, clean an very comfortable for four persons. It offers heating, a fridge and cooking facilities- for a very low price. The campgroungds sanitary facilities are modern and impeccable clean, there is a coin laundry and a dryer cabinet. (The mökkit are generally a very economic accomodation for parties of 2-4 people all over the nordic countries.) We had porro kebap for dinner, it was cheap and tasty. The breakfast is even more recommendable- variegated and of good quality, lots of local products- for a very little price. Excellent! At our second stay, we chose the sauna lodge. This larger vacation home is completely equiped with a state-of-the-art kitchen, living room, TV, fireplace, private shower, CR and sauna. The house is also built in a cosy log cabin style. An excellent choice, for example if you just come out of the forest from a long hike and are in desperate need of a shower and sauna like us. Cosy and comfortable, definitely worth its rent!…
