We spent a couple of nights here whilst bird watching in the area. The room was comfortable, sunny and warm, but only warmed by the sun. It certainly got chilly by morning. Our friends room had amazing decor. The dining room has a great view over the village and a huge pizza oven type fire. In winter you definitely need...

We are very pleased to know they enjoyed the visit to Cabanaconde, Colca Canyon is one of the deepest, and he can see a variety of flora and fauna. Despite the cold winter, we are pleased that the warmth of our staff was able to counteract the cold of the time. Certainly we remember fondly. Walter and Pepith

I have to say that I am peruvian but living in the states for a few years already. Went to visit my family in Arequipa and decided to take my beautiful German girlfriend to see condors to the Colca canyon. Booked a hotel in a rush, before reading a few reviews right here. So the winner was the Kuntur Wasi,...

We spent 3 days at Cabanaconde for some trekking trips in the area. Must say that the hotel was certainly good for a 3-star hotel. Our room was very neat. The view from the hotel is nice; you get an overview of the Cabanaconde-village as well as the surrounding mountains. The food in the restaurant is good. What we most...

I have spent the past 3 nights in Cobanaconda. If I had known about Hotel Kunturwassi Conda I would have booked myself into one of their rooms. The staff are very professional and they provide an excellent service. I have had the previlige to eat her over the past two days and nights and I can honestly say the food...

We stayed here for a couple of night in the little town of Cabanaconde in the Colca Canyon. Located it bit above the village it was a nice surprise for me. A nicely setup hotel (lots of green and flowers), with several stairs. We had a very nice room of good size. The bathroom was good also. Beds very comfortable....

A very nice hotel, friendly staff, good service, excellent restaurant. Very close to the Condor lookout, so you can keep a nice schedule! We were able to see condors both the afternoon of our arrival and the next morning. Restaurant was quite good, see separate review.

OK, no one told me this, and had I known, I would've not stayed in Cabanaconde. It's about 1.5hr drive from Chivay by car over gravel roads. That trip was bruising! The view is nice, for sure, but it's a long ride. Anyway, we made it to Hotel Kunturwassi, which is a nice place. The room we got was spacious...

This part of the Colca Canyon and our people are still almost hidden for visitors. I think that sacrifice and the long voyage were rewarded with beautiful landscapes. We strive to provide the best care, but I think that there were some failures in our attentions. About the unfortunate situations that have occurred, we apologize to you . We are...

We enjoyed the opportunity to dress up in local clothing. I wish the guide had explained the reason my sons were wearing skirts though, before they were all dressed up. (They were such good sports). Colca has very beautiful attractions, the great depth of the Canyon looks from Cabanaconde. But it is not easy to know our customs, dances and music. We are pleased to know that you liked to wear typical clothes of our people. Your children were dressed as dancers of "witite". We appreciate very much for your beautiful memories of the Colca....

My wife and I traveled to Peru in Sept Oct 2007. One of the things we wanted to see was Colca Canyon and the condors. We are not the tour types so went on our own by bus from Arequipa. The hotel was easy enough to find - small town, not much out there at the time. The accomodations were...
