Room ok for sleeping. The first room was smelling very bad and water was dwelling from the toilet. We got another room which was fine. The restaurant food fish dish was good and the service was very good.
We arrived before the season had really got going, only a couple of ski tracks were open, and the hotel was almost empty. The first room was a bit miserable so we changed to another on the first floor which was ok. The sauna was fine and the breakfast very good. Getting up to the ski tracks would probably be a bit of a trek without a car. Probably a bit expensive for what you get, but this is Finland and a ski centre.
Few days ski in middle of the Finland Slopes are small but well maintained Hotel typically ski hotel with restaurant Close to the lifts but you need transportation or will be 30 min walk Other restaurants little far away as well city of Jamsa is 30 min away
Difficult to rate because this hotel was so between bad and average. It remind me of late 70s or 80s. If you are going to ski, it might be ok. If you go for a holiday and to spend time in your room it`s bad. In my case it was raining so I had to spend some time in the room. The room itself was clean but a litle bit past. Very dark lightning and a bit gloomy. The buffee brekfast was between or in the midle. The restaurant itself was ok.I´m a hard sauna visitor and the sauna was open between 18-21. The oven was too big for the space, and it made it too hot and dry. I hope I didn´t rate this hotel too hard, but with small adjustments, will and fix up, it could be ok.
A two-star hotel implies not to expect too much. We paid high season price, 83 eur a night, and got two clean beds, a rooftop window and a well-running wifi. Also, no cleaning during our three-night stay. Tasty breakfast, though. Ok location with some few hundred m from the western slopes.
Himos hotelli is situated about 1 km from the main slopes of Himos Ski resort. The hotel has normal double rooms, but we've always stayed in the so-called "cabin rooms", which take 6 people. The room has two bunk beds and two other beds, so there's not much room for anything else. Even the window is on the ceiling! The point is, however, that we paid 150 euros in all for two nights - that's 25 euros/person. As the price includes a good breakfast (cost 9,5 euros), which keeps you going well until lunch, and sauna on both days, the room actually comes for free! So no point in complaining about the running loo or lack of clotheshangers :) The food in the restaurant, by the way, is ok. Another party had problems in getting their food but immediately received compensation. The service we had on arrival, in the evening, before the sauna and in the morning was fine and friendly.…
The room was down the hill from the ski slopes and restaurant, walkable to the restaurant but to get to the slopes it was better to drive. I checked in late so the key was left outside, but that worked fine. The building was decorated with charming Finnish kitsch. The room was very clean and spacious. The only problem was that at 4am the couple next door started having a screaming loud fight that woke me up one night, but I expect that isn't a normal occurrence and the other nights were fine.
Stayed one night in hotel. In the beginning of the week they don't have any services available after 17:00 - there isn't any restaurant in area open. Rooms have been renovated and are quite comfortable. Wi-fi is really slow and nearly unusable.
This review is not about the hotel itself but more about the customer service they have. We booked this hotel couple of days earlier because we wanted to have a break during our long trip back home. We arrived at 8 pm and noticed that everything seemed to be closed! We read the confirmation e-mail more carefully and and noticed that the office is only open until 5 pm. We tried to call but the voice mail informed us about the same thing, the office had closed several hours ago. We then had no other option but to book another room in the center of Jämsä because we were tired and really frustrated. We sent an e-mail trying to explain the situation and asked, if they will charge us anything. In the reply mails, first they didin't believe that we had even been there, secondly they said that they have another phone number for the night that is mentioned in the voice mail if you listen long enough (but this number is not mentioned in the booking confirmation or on the main door of the hotel, though) and thirdly they didin't answer anything to my question about the charge (which they had reserved from my credit card). This was mostly our fault, we hadn't read the confirmation email carefully enough. But it is bad customer service if you don't trust the customer and make him feel like responsible about the finding the "hidden" pieces of information.…
6 days me and my friens spend at Himos, due to Neste rally 2010. The first thing is that the cottages that we get were far away from breakfast and we go there by car. breakfast was included. Our cottage was closer to golf field. It was very bad to here in the early morning how the tracktor was mowing the grass or doing something else bur very loud. In the cottage the is a drier (which will be very nesssery in winter after skying), refregirator, dishwasher machiene and kitchenware. The cottage was about 300 metres from the lake and 200 metres from the "Himos" special stage. My friend went to the announced discoteq - after 30 minites came back cause for 15 eurs he saw only very drunked people. Next time I will live somewhere else.
