Lovely quaint place just far enough from Helsinki to warrant a hotel stay. Lovely restaurant, we had a great meal. Nice paths to walk in nature with river running by. Swan in the cold cold water in the morning.
Large, nice rooms. The restaurant is way above the standard one would expect in Karkkila. Extra plus for nice playlist. Shame on the person who designed the lighting in the restaurant in 1980s. A disaster. Friendly staff, tasty food and overall nice atmosphere.
I spent a night here in June 2021, and they stay could've not been more perfect. The staff is easygoing, friendly and so helpful, rooms are very tidy and comfortable, interior done with good taste matching the location. The building as a historical spot is an experience in itself to stay in, surroundings are very idyllic. peace and quiet. Breakfast was lovely. Plenty of activities to do around, you can also hop on a bike that they borrow for free, and cruise easily around the city. Also one of the best walking tracks in town starts straight from the yard. In the evenings (or lunch), lovely restaurant and atmospheric garden (check the events too) to enjoy your time. Thank you!
We stayed two nights in Tehtaan Hotelli. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the place was beuatiful, rooms we clean and tidy, the whole environment was absolutely fantastic and the restaurant at the hotel served excellent food. We did some canoeing, yoga, sauna, got massage. It could have not been better place for safe and relaxing weekend.
We spent a night with my partner at one of the suites in the Bremer Mansion at Tehtaan Hotelli. The very spacious room, divided in two by a door, was really elegant and practical at the same time, it really met our needs: the big living-room allowed one of us to stay awake until late and watch some tv from the sofa-bed, while the other one wanted to wake up earlier and practice some yoga, in both cases without disturbing the one who was sleeping at the bedroom. The beds were super comfortable! We loved the basket for the breakfast, and additionally, there is a kitchen where it is possible to cook or store your own food. We had dinner at the restaurant, the food was delicious (thank you to the chef!), the atmosphere with the candles, the fireplace and the jazzy music was perfect. Previously we went for a walk by the river and the old factory, we enjoyed the Autumn colors a lot. But the best of all was the really friendly personnel, Iina at the restaurant, and the owner, Leena and her husband, thank you so much for giving us so good tips about walks around the area and for treating us so kindly. We hope to come back soon, this is just one hour away from Helsinki and it is perfect for a weekend break, we warmly recommend!…
Stopped for a saturdaylunch. Lunch was excellent. Service was good and fast. Allthought you would think that of the lunch is around 15e you should’t need to take your own plates back to dishes. But the restaurant is new so this could be just they try to find their own way to do this. Lunch includes starter salad from the buffet, main lunch and coffee for dessert. My friend asked tomatoketchup wth fries, but they said they dont have. Still if you want to be fancy restaurant, you could serve ketchup even on this kind of place 😉. Otherwise place looked that it coul be nice place to stay
A good selection of delicious items on the menu- also vegan options, which was truly appreciated. Everything tasted fresh and well- prepared. In addition, the service was excellent- very warm and heartfelt. The location is historic and lovely. The summer terrace under a huge oak tree is such a great idea! We truly enjoyed our visit and recommend this place to everyone!
This was a day-visit with our small family now that the corona restrictions are finally getting lifted. The hotel had just re-opened and the restaurant "Tammen Alla" (i.e. "Under the Oak") was the main attraction for us. The source for the name is obvious from the attached pictures - the terrace of the restaurant is literally under a 150 year old oak. The hotel premises and the surroundings are really beautiful - the hotel buildings have been built for the tycoons of the old, the factory owners and mill leadership from the time the nearby blast furnace was still operational. In fact, the museum "Suomen Valimomuseo" is walking distance, on the other side of the main hotel building and well worth a quick visit. The weather was perfect for our visit, a rather hot day but the temperature in the shadow provided by the oak was perfect. We had a few different types of pasta and a chicken salad - all to share, and all portions were really good. The vanilla icecream portion with oat biscuits was also perfect. Service was very good and attentive, although the terrace was relatively busy. While the portions were nice and tasteful, the best part of the visit was the overall ambiance of the terrace and the hotel surroundings. In the end we ended up spending a good part of the afternoon at the hotel and the surroundings. First the lunch, after which we visited the above mentioned museum and walked the hotel surroundings. After this, we were under the oak again, for coffee and dessert. We will visit again during the summer - and will also consider the premises for future business or personal events.…
This hotel offers different kinds of possibilities for accomodation. Travellers, business trips or weddings, everything is possible. Great rooms and places for small groups to have your own private meeting, sauna or dinner. Anything goes. Owners will help you to get the best visit you ever had in Karkkila. I warmly recommend!
Tehtaan Hotelli at Karkkila is worth a visit even for a short overnight trip from Helsinki. This old, historic factory area is full of interesting details, and the newly opened hotel is a welcomed addition to this place. Leena runs the hotel, and she is very welcoming and ready to help the guests with their questions. I would recommend staying in the manor style building, the Bremer House, which is the factory patron's old house. The guest rooms are cosy and big. The Bremer House has a kitchen downstairs, where you can make your own breakfast from the ingredients provided. Leena also prepares nice fresh sandwiches for the guests to enjoy in the morning. We had a lovely stay in Karkkila, and combined the stay at Tehtaan hotelli with a canoeing trip @Vähämäen tila. I can highly recommend this combination. Leena serves amazing food, and I hope in the future more guests would find the hotel to justify a wider lunch/dinner offering at the hotel. Thank you Leena, we will be back soon.…
