If you are looking for a good experience this is not the place you are looking for 10 years back this resort was the best now is the worst in the area, rooms dirty not a good food, not many options of food there is no snack in the nights they force you to drink just one type of juice, a lot of black outs there is a colombian guy who is the boss of the restaurant and bars and he is the worst person there
I finally have time to write my review. In 2019 alone, I have visited Grand Paradise Samana twice, and once in 2020. You can tell how much I love the place. The place has the best beach I have ever been, again, I went back twice again for that. However, my experience with the hotel is one of my worst resort experience. The units are not clean, which is okay on par with a 3 stars. However the towel is the WORST experience and for this alone, I will not visit again until someone tells me that they have changed this practice. The towels are torn and worn down, and they only let you to have one towel which is like 10 years old towels. I would have brought my own towels except I won't have a place to wash mine. It is just disgusting because of the quality, conditions of the towel. They also make you only switch to new towels before 6 pm, and you are then stuck. The place to get new towels is like the opposite side of the beach. last and again, i went there the first time because of the beach, I went back because of the beach, I went back again because of the beach and value. but I won't go back again because of the hygiene especially now with COVID risk. I may go back again if I hear changes about that on Tripadvisor, otherwise, I won't.…
10000% NOT a 4 star hotel. When we first arrived our room smelled like cat urine, when we asked to switch they were telling us to come back in an hour, come back at 6 come back tomorrow, after I was tired of getting the run around they finally switched us to a new room. The food is garbage, easy place to get sick. Have to pay 15$ a plate for Japanese which was the best food. Place is over run with Russians who are completely rude. The staff talk about the rude Russians as well. Far walk from room to beach. One pool, split down to serve as family / adult and one kiddie pool. Didn’t play music during the day, had to repeatedly ask. The entertainment was Boring. The best part were the excursion away from this place. Will never go again and urge people to stay away.
We came back from Samana RD and more specifically from the resort Grand Paradise with a bitter taste. We didn’t enjoy our vacation at the Grand Paradise at all. We travelled with a couple of friends that you know very well and had the same problems. The Grand Paradise has been presented to us as a 4-star resort and that is incorrect. We are not specialists in rating resorts but can assure you that we have seen much better ones with less stars in Cuba. Our rooms had old furniture, worn out by time. The drawers no longer closed or open properly and the back (bracket) holding the entire back wall and drawers was fractured making the night tables uneven, so the lamps and any object slipped to the ground. (See photo 4 ). The phone was not working, we rarely had hot water and even occasionally, no water. The TV had no control and was malfunctioning. The King size bed was uncomfortable and caving-in at the center. We had king size pillows but, with a single pillow case, (why not put 2 to cover all the pillow). The patio doors were noisy, too loose and hard to open. They did not lock properly, making the room unsafe. The air conditioning was not working properly despite of having technicians come in 5 or 6 times. It was very humid in the room. The mini-fridge was operating properly, it was overloaded with frost and ice. The Food.... Either too salty on meats or not cooked, just about raw hamburgers, no mustard, nor relish. Sorry cannot write more than 100 caracters…
Traveled here with family in February. First off, this is definitely not a 4 star resort (2 at most); The pictures on various sites are quite deceiving. Resort is very run down; it is not properly maintained. We had a leak in our washroom and I had to go to front desk more than once for someone to come and check it out. If you do not request room service, no one will show up! and when they do, they do such a poor job of cleaning up the rooms! Bed linens also reek! In regards to the staff, they need to hire workers who know how to speak English considering guests are international. Also, a lot of the staff are quite rude and unpleasant to be around, as if they are forced to do their jobs. Buffet and a la carte restaurants were horrible... not much selection and everything seems to run out. There is no complimentary snack bar in your room; they only provide bottled coke and bottled water. Save your money and go somewhere else--- overall, seemed like a run down motel.…
