This was our second trip (first with our baby daughter) and we were delighted to find that it was as enjoyable as our first visit. Nothing was too much bother for Sarah and with an 8 month old who had a runny tummy and a cold that proved to be both a tremendous relief and aid for us. Everything was...

Very pretty village and village house, own self-contained suite with bedroom, bathroom, living room and courtyard with summerhouse seating. Immaculately presented and clean, lots of nice touches like a drink on arrival, books and magazines to read, lots of leaflets on the local area, shower gels to choose from. Great broadband and wifi, and TV. I'd recommend the pancakes for...

We came to the South Downs area to walk and to relax. The Old Bakery was the perfect "operating base". It's hidden in a very cute village with charming old houses and a castle at walking distance. Guests have private hallway in the house with bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and even a small court and pavilion with an extra sitting...

We turned up at 6pm, muddy sweaty and tired after cycling from Winchester along the nearby Southdowns way. We were immediately met by Sarah and had tea with superb homemade muffins. She was not at all perturbed by our unkempt appearance which was soon sorted out in the bathroom in our suite. Everything is clean tidy and works. The B&...

We stayed here for 1 night whilst walking the South Downs Way. We arrived wet and soggy but received a warm welcome with a pot of tea and a slice of homemade banana bread. The owner brought our luggage to our rooms which were spacious and well appointed. The weather is atrocious and the owner gave us a lift to...

As is our usual practice when we have spent our holiday mainly with family, we try to spend our last couple of days on our own as a treat before we fly home. We decided on The Old Bakery as I wanted to take my husband around the area where I was born and also to locate my grandad's grave....

Staying at Sarah Wheeler’s Old Bakery was a real treat. Our roomy quarters were not only cosy, well-equipped and tidy; they also allowed us to sleep our one and a half year old son Simon in a separate room. Sarah was so kind as to change the curtains to ensure the room would be dark enough for him. Needless to...

Stayed here as a family of four (two boys aged 6 & 9) , after a long wet walk along the downs. The welcome was second to none, even with our muddy attire. Fantastic facilities, great attention to detail. Wonderful home cooked food, both in the evening and at breakfast. Recommend the poached pears for breakfast! Would definitely recommend and...

My wife and I had a night away staying in this beautiful, very friendly house in an unbelievably beautiful village surrounded by fantastic countryside. The room was lovely and we had our own living room as well! Sarah was a wonderful host, and my wife said the poached pears in maple syrup followed by smoked haddock, poached egg and bubble...
