This hotel was in the perfect location for us, coming by car. Having a private garage (with a reasonable 15 Euro charge) was a major plus. It was very good value: comfy beds, good continental breakfast (yes small rooms but hey) and close to the Metro. It is further out, but that was not a problem as it was on the No. 1 Metro line, straight into eg the vibrant Chatelet Les Halles, The Louvre or Place de la Concorde. By being further out, it was much easier to navigate by car. We stayed just one night, on our return from a holiday in the Loire Valley, and managed to fit in a lovely afternoon/evening of sightseeing in the city and a good breakfast to set us off the following day. I'd come back there on my next visit and may even think of going to Disneyland Paris from there too.
In June 2021 I wanted a reasonably priced room on a high floor with a street view in a hotel with a car park within walking distance of my daughter's apartment in Vincennes. As Hotel Daumesnil ticked all those boxes, I would have selected it even without the special offers of free breakfast and a half bottle of wine. I originally booked for 3 nights and stayed 4. All of the employees I encountered during that period were uniformly friendly and helpful. I believe that in order to have a room on a high floor facing the street I was given a double, even though I was traveling by myself. The room was comfortable enough for me, but I am a diminutive person. Two people, particularly if they are more normal-sized, might have found it cramped. The breakfast room is an atrium and has a small outdoor space. But for two reasons, that would have made for a leisurely breakfast. The weather most of the time I was there was not conducive to sitting in the outdoor space and dawdling indoors during the Covid-19 pandemic was not appropriate. And speaking of the breakfast, as it was gratis, it might seem churlish of me to be critical. Nevertheless, for purposes of full disclosure, I should comment. The bread and pastries were fine and I was able to use the automated coffee machine to make a good strong cup of coffee. However, as I did have 4 breakfasts at the hotel, I would have preferred more diversity in the offerings. For example, there was no fruit and each day there was only one type of cheese (and only 2 alternatives during the 4 days). It was definitely not a breakfast for which I would have been willing to pay the normal price of €14. The breakfast aside, as the title of my review states, the hotel did the job!…
Well located close to the Metro, this hotel is perfect for people looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the downtown crowd when they sleep but can easily get to the city centre during when they want to. The hotel staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Secure parking was a real bonus and made leaving the car parked a worry-free decision. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others and plan to stay there again.
Very Good Location, clean and comfortable room, very friendly personnel, breakfast OK, wifi works fine but not sufficient for video conferences if you work on the 5th floor. This hotel was a good discovery. I will come back.
I was happy with my stay, came a little early, and headed for the Vincennes castle and the estates prior to getting the room key. Several nice restaurants and cafes in the area, and the Castle with its keep as well as the ground are interesting and have been well kept. Good staff at hotel, only 5-7 min walk for RER and the metro.
