Unforgettable experience being with Ibu Yo and the son and daughter and staff. The resort it self has only 2 bungalow, really quite and relaxing. But tourist must know that the place is only have a basic facilities and basic utilities. Other than that Ibu yo can cook a nice and awesome food, plus the place has the most beautiful view of the island and most beautiful sunset and very quite and clean beach to relax. I paid 45$ including best food made by Ibu Yo and i think its a great deal(include 3 times meal), tourist also must understand that Sumba is not like Bali, where they can everything easily, Sumba is undeveloped and things a bit pricy somehow, even to get here by car.

I really enjoy my couple of nights at Mr Davids. Staff and owner are great. Location is perfect and my favourite spot was the small hut on the beach.
It is a simple place with bucket shower and no fan or AC. But since the price includes all your food. And the food is great. It is a good deal.
Is wrong on MapMe but spot on on Google Maps because I added it there.

Excellent place for surfers, because the resort is located right in front of the wave. Also great place for fishing and relaxing. Some people complain that the price too high, but Sumba is little more expensive than other Indonesian islands, and still in compare of other places we stayed, we got treated very nice by the owner Ibu Johana, great host, she helped us with many things, accommodation was nice, clean, we ate one of the best food in Indo there and experienced one of the best service. If you looking for empty lineups, or quiet authentic place, I would highly recommend this place! Ibu Johana can also organize boat trip to the island Mangkudu, where you can surf.

This might not be the cheapest place in Indo and it doesn't offer world class waves.
I would go back there in a heartbeat at any given time though. We we're treated like family right from the start. Ibu Johanna was incredibly helpful and making us feel very welcome in a genuine way.
The price tag includes basic accommodation that was more than sufficient and authentic and three freshly made meals every day being served when ever we felt ready for it.
The surf outfront was always empty and during the week that we spent there, we could surf everyday while on the better days, this wave was insane fun with steep and sometimes even barrelling sections allowing for around 100-130 m lefthanders.
If you're looking for a party place with stable internet connection, don't go there.
But in case you're chasing for an authentic Indo experience with empty lineups and enjoy the quite every now and then, this is an awesome place to go to.

We spent 3 nights with Ibu Joanna and her young staff. Accommodation was clean and private. At night the genset is on to recharge the gadgets. We had seafood for lunch and dinner every day and pancakes for bfast. Three meals a day plus water included in the price. I thought the value was good considering the good food and friendly service. The beach is good with a couple of fun waves around.
