Average - no more, and certainly over-priced, although it is cheaper than most of the other lodges in Karatu. The grounds are pleasant, but the coffee shop and bar could be better - which would encourage visitors to stay longer and spend more money. The pool is an added bonus.

We arrived at Karatu without hotel booking, as per friendly advise from veterans. We spent the best part of two hours surveying hotels in the posher parts of Karatu - assumption being that that is where the best hotels are. Roundly disappointed. Finally we arrived at Flamingo. Welcome relief my friend! The hotel is the best there is to offer...

Stayed here with an overland group for a night at their campsite. It was my first time here, and I was pleasantly surprised - certainly the best campsite in Karatu that I have stayed at. The staff were superb, the free use of the swimming pool was a bonus, and it was a peaceful location. We booked a local singing/dancing/acrobatics...

The room was very filthy, cockroach in the shower, mosquito net with holes, the staff wasn't kind, food terrible. Lunch box: sandwich with butter. Not recommended at all. Good things :The pool looks nice, and there's Wi-Fi.

Not knowing how much the hotel was as it was booked for us by the Safari Company we went with, the hotel was horrible. There might be better - but pricier options - in the area or closer to Ngorongoro Crater/ Lake Manyara. With little bungalow houses of two separate rooms, the place is a no thrill accommodation option. The...

Only down side was that there was hardly anyone else there, the second night we were the only ones........Food was good in restaurant but the restaurant manager kinda hovered around a little too...

Rooms and toilets are basic and fairly clean but towels were a little yellow and water pressure in the shower was extremely weak. At USD 4 for a 1.5 litre bottle (twice that of the lodge at Moshi), water is way overpriced at this hotel. The service was excellent though. We were on a safari tour and stayed here for...

I recently stayed here for two nights for safari. There is no hot water as we know of in the west. There is no TV and no AC in the rooms. Very isolated place and the entry is a poor neighborhood. Found spiders and ants in the rooms. Not very good lighting in the pool area. There are no activities...
