Sacha is almost everything you want in a trip to the rainforest. They care so much for the environment which is so important when you see all the development and drilling along this pristine river. The focus here is on learning about the flora and fauna with a heavy emphasis on birds. I never realized how many birders there are,...

I spent 3 nights at Sacha Lodge last week as a solo traveler. Being solo is fine here, as you are assigned to a group with whom you'll do all excursions and share all meals. Each group of about 6 guests is assigned a "naturalist guide" and a "native guide". The naturalist guide will be fluent in English (or your...

We really enjoyed ourselves at the sacha lodge. We did lots of research and almost went for the Manatee boat but we are glad we chose this lodge. It was exactly as we had hoped for. I did not notice any major problems with insects. I am a target when it comes to mosquitos. and although there were some, It...

The trip to Sacha Lodge exceeded our expectations. The whole operation runs so smoothly and everyone is catered for. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with the jungle right by your balcony. The food was excellent and all diets are catered for. Even the piranha we caught was cooked for our group to sample. Our guides Pablo and Wilson were...

I can only add my accolades to the beauty of the jungle here, the lodge itself and the personnel. We went on 2-3 expeditions every day lasting 3-4 hours and seeing different flora and fauna . The tower and the tree house gave us great views of birds and wildlife. Amazing constructions. Food was great and plentiful and the staff...

How do you describe a place like this? It is a protected piece of rainforest - that could eventually be the only piece that is left. God forbid. It is lush, pristine rainforest that sings to you each night and invites you to witness it's treasures by day. People that come to this place are avid birdwatchers and very into wildlife...

We just returned from our awesome trip to Ecuador. Sacha Lodge was fantastic. The rooms were beautiful with screened showers that made you feel like you were showering right out in the forest. We saw numerous kinds of monkeys, birds, colorful insects. The guides were so knowledgeable and personable. It was fantastic and I would recommend it to any nature...

I stayed at the Sacha Lodge as part of a photography safari and was staggered by this oasis in the middle of nowhere! As others have commented it is quite a journey to get there but when your canoe breaks through the grasses on the lake and you see the lodge it is amazing. The staff are great - from...

I stayed 4 days at Sacha Lodge and loved every minute of it. As other reviewers mention, the journey in involves a flight from Quito, 2 hour motorised canoe ride on the Napo river, half hour hike and 10 minute paddled canoe ride across Pilchicocha lake on which the lodge is based. The whole experience prepares you for a few...
