Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a great venue for meetings. Away from Helsinki out in the woods. Being undisturbed. The place is very functional and well equipped.big and small rooms. Good food. A lot of food. Very polite staff.

I can’t imagine any other reason than attending an event to stay in Majvik. It is out in the woods and there is nothing spectacular- nice peaceful setting but all that can be enjoyed in better ways closer to Helsinki. For events such as off-site meetings it is a very good place. Rooms are small and plain but serve the purpose. Decent breakfast and service.

I have yet to stay in such a filthy room in Europe in 3 to 5 star hotels, It wasn't just dirty - floor that thongs attach to your feet or the accumulated dust on all the shelves, closet, TV, tables - it was down right filthy - hair in the shower and more disconcerting the wall. The wall in the bathroom also had small drops of brownish nature of an unknown origin. Yuck.

The hotel is designed for trainings and meetings as it has lots of conference rooms that can accommodate a large number of people.

Otherwise I don't recommend the hotel for anything else.
The only thing that resembles to 4 stars is the price of the dinner for 20 euros. The food selection is quite poor, I've seen budget hotels with better selection. The rooms are small, the shower has no border so when you take a shower all the water goes everywhere in the whole bathroom and of course there are no one time sleepers.
Being a business hotel I would expect to find there a decent iron and ironing desk but it turns out they have 2 tables somewhere outside the rooms with some very cheap and broken irons (how much do these things cost in Finland ??? that they can not afford at least some cheap normal ones). It took me one hour to iron two shirts with these majestic devices.
Also the first time I asked myself whether this is a pension was when the lady at the front desk in reply to my request for an iron suggested I go myself somewhere at the end of the building and either iron outside like a room-boy or take the table into my room (walking with the table through the long hotel is also a nice experience - for a hostel).

The sauna was "broken" when we arrived and apparently somebody "was working" Sunday evening to repair it - oh come'on!

if you need to print something the front desk can not help you, so you have to go somewhere in the hotel and use a PC that works so slow it takes 7 loooong minutes just to boot.

Otherwise the fact that it is in the woods is nice.

We had a company's annual meeting in Hotel Majvik. That is usually the place we have this kind of meetings. The meeting went well. We got some sandwiches and Christmas tart with coffee or tea. I was elected again us Board member.

We were invited for a private party. The castle was a nice place to party, the rooms were all individual and interesting, except that they were very cold and you couldn't set the heating. Breakfast was sufficient. Drinks were too expensive.

Nothing special on it but the surroundings: a really nice forest and lake. Out of that, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are Finnish-standard, which means totally functional, no luxury, no more m2 than the strictly necessary. Breakfast is poor, not many options at all. Lunch buffet is so-so. Reception personnel goes from nice to unfriendly. However, the hotel is well equipped for congresses.

Main building is nice, the castle up in the hill is spectacular!
If you get the room from the castle then you're lucky!
But some of the rooms in tha main building are small and they need a renovation!
Hotel has some nice saunas and lots of meeting rooms.
So it's a noce place have a meeting.
It's quite far from Helsinki and from the airport.
