Location was fantastic right on the Duomo square, hotel amazing (medieval building) but a little bit tired....rooms spacious and very clean. Hotel offers a convenient parking space in the square which is normally restricted. Breakfast was appalling...not even a decent coffee, which in Italy is not acceptable, and for an exorbitant cost of €10 per person! Better walk 100 mt to the street below where at Bar Cantini you can have excellent pastries and lovely coffee and cappuccino for a third of the price. We would also like to let the management know that the pieces of modern art for sale were quite disturbing both in the corridors and in the rooms...it's a medieval building, please don't ruin the visitor's experience with such terrible artwork!! No restaurant available on Saturday night as the staff were on holiday (sunny weekend in mid march??)

This is my 5th visit here. The location is stunning and for a period residence warm, comfortable and rustic. Again the restaurant was closed for a private function, but when we have eaten here in the past it was good; there are many good local restaurants to choose from. Real Italian restaurants. But don’t be tempted with the pretentiousness, the best are the traditional ones Breakfast however must win “worst ever 4 star” breakfast award. Machine coffee, 4 slices of ham, 2 of cheese, 3 croissants, cake, own brand cereal, boiled eggs and yogurt. My companion asked for more bread and was advised it was finished- at 8.15. But this is Italy and the meals during the rest of the day will certainly compensate.

We were unsure what to expect when we booked this hotel. But we were not disappointed. Our large room with a wonderful view over the Tuscan countryside. Very helpful staff - we could not find entrance but manager came to meet us and in car directed us to entrance and then parked car in almost private area. It says on website car parking nearby in square but in reality it's in an area not public so very safe. Shame hotel restaurant and terrace bar was closed. Definitely San Miniato worth a stop on way to Pisa airport.

This is a beautiful hotel in a hilltop town on the Via Francigena. I was exhausted when I arrived before check-in time and my room wasn't ready but they upgraded me and gave me a wonderful room with spectacular views on two sides. We were a bit disappointed that we couldn't get an early breakfast in order to cover most of the next leg of our walk before the sun got too hot but the Bar Cantina down the road was open from 6.30.

We stayed for four nights so had an in depth feel of staying there as opposed to just an over nighter. We would definitely stay again. A superb location with an historical setting. Superb panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside. The hotel staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room was very big and spacious. I would have given this a five star rating but for two things: one, no kettle and beverage supplies in the room which I was surprised at considering the type and level of hotel. The bathroom is fine but there is one very dull energy saving Isn’t in it. Laudable aims but you need light! 😂. The hotel is effectively b&b. They outsource the restaurant and bar below. Very good breakfast selection except no one can do decent scrambled egg, but let them off for that as everything else is good. Free parking a bonus.
