The Six Senses is about an hour from the airport and fairly secluded so there isn't much around if you want to leave the resort and see Bodrum. From the moment we arrived the front desk was wonderful, they were welcoming and extremely helpful. We got upgraded to an unbelievable suite which was one of the best I've stayed in. The room was clean, dreamy bed, quite nature sounds and the views were magnificent from the room which overlooked the sea with its own private pool. The beaches are clean, there is great hike/walk around the hotel. The gym, spa and the facilities are fantastic. A great breakfast. The staff are all wonderful at the hotel, the only thing I would say sometimes they do seem to miss the attention to detail when spoken to so not sure if they were under-staffed but they could easily forget orders or get distracted elsewhere without getting the orders right. This was on the beach, during breakfast and evening dinners. I couldn't see a restaurant manager overlooking all of this at times so this area could be improved. However, as all the staff are so hospitable and kind you don't take it to heart.

Also this was off-season so only one restaurant was open. The menu was a little limited and being vegetarian, I would have liked to have seen more dishes on the menu. I also would have loved to see a bar/room where you can relax in the evenings for a drink. We didn't get a chance to go in the pools as it was fairly cold still but they seemed beautiful. There seemed to be a fair bit of construction around (did not spoil the trip at all) so it appears the hotel will only get bigger and even better with their amenities. There is also a separate beach for families/kids playground which is lovely if you have kids. If you want to switch off, relax and just be in the resort for a few days this is perfect. This is certainly a 5 star hotel and it's really well maintained. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at the hotel and we will certainly be back. I can highly recommend Six Senses Kaplankaya!

Six Sense Resort exceeded our expectations. The warm greeting when you arrive continues throughout your stay as the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The spa is fantastic, the biggest in Europe.

You literally do not have to walk anywhere as they have buggies to drive you wherever you want to go on the resort.

At one point during my stay, I needed to go to the pharmacy but after speaking to the receptionist they managed to get someone to go for me and get what I needed which I was so amazed and grateful for. Thank you Oyku.

If you visit the Saloncumba restaurant, make sure you take your card to pay as they do not charge this to the room and we only found this out once we were leaving.

A must see is the main beach, Anigha (hopefully I spelt this correctly). This beach is amazing. You need to get the shuttle bus but it is worth the trip which only takes about 10 minutes if that.

The Anigha restaurant is probably the most expensive restaurant on the complex but the food is fantastic as is all the food in all the restaurants at Six Sense.

I did find it strange that prices for anything on the complex are all in Euros but when you check out, they convert it back to Turkish Lira.

All in all I would recommend this resort but it isn't somewhere to go if you are watching the pennies.

Thank you Six Sense from the grounds staff, the valets, reception, housekeeping, waiters and waitresses etc etc you have made us feel welcome, relaxed and we really loved every moment of our stay.

Stayed at Six Senses Kaplankaya resort’s ridge terrace villa for a week. Upon check-in, immediately noticed that the villa was not properly cleaned( smudges on the walls, peeled wall paint in the bathroom, empty tissue boxes, dusty coffee table.. more disturbingly, dirty headboard and baby bassinet with smudges.. Upon notifying the staff who were assigned to our room, housekeeping did a second attempt to clean the room on day #2, yet the outcome was unsatisfactory again.. I ended up leaving a post-it on a daily basis, instructing the housekeeping how to clean the room properly..

Continuing with the cons, the breakfast buffet is covered by flies, pretty sure it is violating a number of health codes. I see that this issue has been highlighted by other visitors’ reviews, as well.

During the first days of our stay, the resort was pretty empty and the buggy service used to move around the resort was pretty punctual and reliable. Towards the end of our stay (first week of July, 2022), the resort got more crowded and the buggy service ended up not showing up on a number of occasions . Also on day #6, the housekeeping didn’t show up for ~2hrs after we requested the room to be cleaned and we ended up not having housekeeping on that day..

Finally, when we were checking out, not a single staff at the front desk asked how our stay was. I was just eager to leave the place as soon as possible, so I didn’t bother to share my unsolicited feedback.

One of the primary reasons why we selected this resort was their pet policy. I can confirm that they are a pet-friendly resort. Another positive about this resort is that the waiters at the restaurants are attentive and kind. These are the only positive things I can say about this place.

Not recommended. Definitely not meeting the expectations and not worth the price

Dear buxeyb, Greetings from all of us here at Six Senses Kaplankaya and thank you for having taken the time to share your feedback from the stay with us. I am deeply sorry for the experience you had did not meet your standards or those that we strive to provide to each of our guests. The shortcomings you have raised are of great concern as they certainly do not reflect our standards nor the genuine care and dedication of our team. I am sorry to learn that you had an awful experience with cleaning, flies, and buggy service timing. I will certainly address these points with my management team. Whilst I appreciate my apologies and assurances are of little consequence in retrospect I hope they go some way to restore your confidence in us. It would be my pleasure should you wish to return to Six Senses Kaplankaya in the future to personally handle your reservation, so that we might have the opportunity to afford you a wonderful stay. Sincerely, Adnan Yücel General Manager

Let me start by giving credit where credit is due. The resort is beautiful, our villa was great, the food was delicious and the gym is 1 of the best hotel/resort gyms I’ve ever used. Unfortunately the level of incompetence at check out and the week that followed after our stay was ridiculous. We booked through booking.com for 2 nights. 1 night was paid for prior to our arrival and the 2nd night was paid for upon check in. We checked in at 2pm and roughly 2 hours later we were evacuated from our villa to the main beach. After much confusion and no clear leader we were lead up to the main building and escorted in mini vans and taxis to the off site staff quarters. Here we waited in a crowded cafeteria, still with no idea of what was happening. Eventually food was served cafeteria style and we were told that the fire is under control (an electric buggy exploded, no injuries) and we will be returning to the resort around at 8pm. By the time we were escorted back and we reached our villa it was already 9pm, we were exhausted and went straight to bed. That night we slept with the sliding door open as our room smelled strongly of smoke. The following morning I awoke to take a shower and head to breakfast only to find that the water supply to our room had been cut due to the fire, upon returning from breakfast the issue was resolved. 2/3 beaches were closed on our second day due to the fire and we spent most of the day at the main beach and in the pool at our villa. At check out the following day is when the real incompetence began. Upon check out they told us we had booked 3 nights, I showed them our confirmation from booking.com and they said the 3rd night is complementary, you can’t tell us at check out that we have 1 more complementary night, we had flights, transfers etc booked, so we settled the bill and left. At check out they said we would have the night of fire free of charge and we would get 1 night complimentary, by my understanding that is 2 free nights, which would mean we should be refunded for 2 nights. Once I returned home I checked my accounts only to notice I had been charged for an additional night, instead of being refunded. I got in touch with the report by email and through booking.com. They actually argued with me, telling me we stayed 3 nights and that the night of the fire would be refunded. I emailed them my flight details and my rental car return slip to prove we stayed only 2 nights. Finally someone got back to us saying that they had a system reset due to the fire and they accidentally charged me for 3 nights. As I write my review I’m still waiting for them to remedy this fault. I’ve been home for over a week now and I’ve been emailing the resort back and forth, it’s been a real inconvenience and is not the kind of service I expect from the six senses.

We only had 3 nights here, should have been more as the place and facilities are simply amazing! The location is a bit out on a limb and a big resort and complex being built up the hill, hence why the hotel's facilities are so plentiful. The gym & spa (largest in Europe) was incredible and schedule of classes and events on each day. Tennis courts, you can hire bikes, go walking the headlands. and 3 beaches although we just used the main nearby one as being late in season the place was very quiet (sept 24th-27th). In fact some of the restaurants had closed but equally there was a large conference group in which meant they took over various places/restaurants in the evening. Our room was just the superior one, sea view, very large and beautifully designed with closet, super comfy bed and amazing bathroom area and freestanding bath with the view! We most liked the Meze restaurant and sunset bar, although it was a little chilly being end of Sept into the evening. It was our wedding anniversary and they were very good with a lovely chocolate dessert. We also ate 2 evenings in the main restaurant and they'd put some asian items on the menu as the Thai place had closed. You get a personal whatsapp concierge service which was excellent too. We're not usually a 'large hotel' kinda traveller but this place being quieter due to time of year, the exceptional design and facilities won us over. Highly recommend.

It is an excellent resort in a beautiful location with a very attentive team catering to your every need.
Fantastic beaches with golf buggies and minibuses to transport you if needed.
My mother-in-law travelled with us and
Mountain bikes are available and free to use. There are electric bikes available for 45 euro per hour.

Our client manager, Cem Yilmaz, was excellent, nothing was too much trouble for him, organising transport and restaurant reservations. Mr. Fatih Yücel, F.O. manager, was a tremendous help in changing rooms to suit our needs better.

The therapists are excellent. Kim Kloster, Yasmine, Shira, and Enna Avci are all the cream of their respective specialist therapies and treatments. Gulzhan managed all of our spa bookings. She advised on treatments and was very helpful in changing the times and dates of treatments to suit our requirements—a very patient lady. Selin Öcal also helped with changing appointments and organising therapies, always friendly and smiling. The whole team are so friendly and attentive.

The breakfasts were fantastic with fantastic choices. Again, the breakfast team are incredibly attentive.

My only criticism is the price ofvthr meals and drinks in the restaurant. They are more expensive than the top restaurants in London, Paris or Geneva. The food is very good but expensive.

We spent 4 night in this luxury hotel and can’t wait to come back again to explore everything what this nest of hedonism may offer!

Rooms are spacious, with simple minimalistic but still exquisite design, all with the sea view (you even can enjoy the sea view when you are taking bubble bath!).

Territory is indeed huge and you can enjoy peaceful walks by the sea side or bike rides among the olive trees. Hotel has several beaches and our favourite was Anhinga which you can access with shuttle bus: large and peaceful.

Several restaurants serve different food starting from Turkish modern twist and ending by Asian. Our personal favourite was again at Anhinga OD where the octopus was truly delicious.

Finally I would like to thank all the staff for their exquisite service and professionalism, especially Fatima from the receptionist/guest relations desk whose Russian made us feel like home.

The hotel is understaffed, thus, you get low quality service. No valet at the entrance, you wait at the reception until someone notices you, no beach bar service at the family beach after 5pm, 1 person serving in the main beach bar, you always wait for the buggy for min 15-20min, the room is not cleaned before 3pm, at the anhinga beach no towels and no service. You are served from the restaurant nearby although there is a beach bar...The best part, after you give your feedbacks, someone gets back to you after one week saying that they'll pass the information to the relevant responsible...What a unique experience!

There is nothing sixsense about this hotel but the spa. The continuous construction around is annoying, the hotel is very noisy in and around, and some rooms seem to be under constant construction.
We have stayed in other sixsense around the globe and in other similar properties like four seasons and aman, this property is by far the worst experience besides the spa.
We checked this hotel to see if this was an alternative to the close by mandarin or amanruya but it scored way lower in terms of service, the quality of food offering, the know how of the staff and the quality of the overall material in and around.
Because of the construction noise and dust around the property it also lacks the very basic element of serenity the sixsense chain is known for.
Not returning back to this property in the next few years.
