We thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to Gentilini Retreat to see our friend Eleni. She is so welcoming and from the minute you drive through the gates of the retreat you know you are in for a relaxing break. Eleni is extremely helpful; the perfect host and we enjoyed chatting to her over breakfast as we were the only guests...

Eleni met us at the airport (and where we picked up our hire car- Pefanis) and we followed her back to the Retreat. The room was perfect - air conditioning, roomy, good sized bathroom, fridge, kettle etc. Couldn't fault the breakfast which was set out on the patio which was a minute's walk down the track and usually served around...

I stayed here for a week in July. There are 6 cottages which are all Individually decorated. I stayed in the first one through the gate which was the furthest from the pool area but I loved it. It was spacious, light & had kettle & fridge. As a wedding party we had all 6 cottages. Breakfasts under the vines...

2015 was my second stay at the Gentilini Retreat. Eleni, the owner, put me a wonderful room with a very private porch attached. I love this place; it provides a real escape from normality. The substantial breakfast of fresh eggs, bread, yogurt, jams/honey, fresh fruit, with coffee, and lemon juice sets you up for the day. I get immense pleasure...

I always want to stay in the most remote part of whichever Greek island we decide to go to.(we usually try to go to a different one every year) My girlfriend always thinks this is a great idea too, until the wine wears off. Then she wants to stay a bit closer to other humanity! So putting my Robinson Crusoe...

A very peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Helena the host very helpful and knowledgable. Accommodation clean but basic. Breakfast lovely with fresh bread, pastries, fruit and lemonade, I would have preferred egg not to be so hard boiled. Another disappointment is wifi only available on main house balcony. Pool area very clean with fridge for drinks

Peace,Tranquility,Relaxation. What a find this place is full marks to my wife. Our host Eleni was wonderfully helpful and informative, the accommodation although not 5 star luxury is spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was a real treat home made pastries,Fresh fruit, eggs, etc etc a fine way to start the day. The location in the hills and surrounded by...

Very nice place and nice people. Amazing to be in the middle of the olive grove. Nothing left unfinished in the room as is often the case. Nice pool. Nice on this kind of holiday to be able to talk to the owner about the place and the area. Do not go if you want loud music and so on!

The Gentilini Retreat provides an authentic space for real change. I think its uniqueness results from a blend of traditional Greek values with the comforts of quality accommodation. The Retreat is positioned in a valley surrounded on all sides by gentle hills. Whilst the location is discrete and secluded, amenities are not far away. There is a welcoming restaurant within...

What better way to start the day than having breakfast overlooking the olive grove, eating fresh eggs from the resident hens, and lemonade made by Eleni from the lemons in the garden. There was always plenty of choice including warm croissants, bread, yogurts and fresh fruit. I have stayed at many places over the years on Kefalonia but this was...
