The Domaine is very clearly designed in the first place for the business man looking for a moment of peace and quiet far away from Paris or for couples in love with golf. Middled aged to elderly. We found the overall atmosphere to be quite relaxed and also family friendly - albeit an obvious lack of facilities for children. Nicely... More

As you drive into the grounds the sight of the private castle is everything you image it to be as a picture postcard. Staff exceptional food fantastic and lots of facilities pool indoor & out door, free use of bikes, walks, golf spa and two eating areas and live music in the club on the night we were there. What a place! Our group of Healey drivers had a great first night here on a short trip to the Loire valley. Wonderful rooms, huge comfortable beds, lovely breakfast and good food in the Bistro. We asked to be seated outside as the live jazz defeated our object to have a good natter over dinner, but a table was laid... More

Our second time here and was just as good as the first. The property is beautifully set around the fairy tale style chateau on the lake. Check in was efficient, very friendly and very fast. The room this time was however a bit on the small side which was made worse by the size of the bed which reduced the... More

Very beautiful chateau, set around a lake. Good facilities and comfortable rooms. The only disappointment is with the food, which is below average. We ate in the restaurant which was average and then attended a function in the hall. The dinner at the function wasn't edible...it was very tough duck, which I couldn't cut through with my knife. Huge let-down,... More

We had a 4 day stay in this beautiful hotel during January - a family group of 2 adults & 2 children. We stayed in one of the cottages, which was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The service during our stay was outstanding and we were made to feel very welcome. We ate in the main restaurant and the bistro,... More

The property is simply stunning. Beautiful historic castle surrounded by a golf course, gardens and a huge lake. Serene, restful. The room was nice, clean and had a lovely view of the lake and castle. The restaurant was a dissapointment. We ordered the degustation menu, trusting in its Michelin star. Much of it was creative and delicious. Unfortunately, the lobster... More

Magnificent place, a beautiful lake around which you can jog or bike(available at the grounds), a inside and outside pool, spa, great menu (even at the more democratic, "the club"). Waking up to birds singing, nature right outside your door, sun shining, makes you naturally smile and start a wonderful day. Was here for work, a real pleasure and a... More

I stayed at Domaine De La Bretesche for 4 days in June during a nearby work event. We chose this hotel based on it's proximity to our event, but the rooms were quite comfortable and very large. In addition to a very comfortable bed, the room was equipped with high-end electronics, a fridge, and nicely appointed bathroom. Free wifi was... More

We stayed for a week in the cottages beside the golf shop, 'a deux pas' from the clubhouse, the pool and hotel. Comfortable accommodation, very quiet and full of character. Food in the clubhouse restaurant was very good and the Michelin star restaurant in the hotel was superb, as expected (attentive and knowledgeable staff). Travelling with 11 yr old daughter,... More
