Brad makes his place feel like you are staying with an old friend. The cottages are neat and clean and have breathtaking views. (Bears walked right past the front of our open door.) What a photo op!!!! It was amazing. The main lodge has a kitchen, bathrooms, showers, sauna and a living room. You feel at home here. Our guide...

Brad is the consummate host, whether you're staying the hostel building or one of his cabins. His property has the best view of the glaciers, with a nice deck to enjoy it from, or by the grills for the best dinner venue. It is all low key and simple, and perfect for our tastes. We spent a night in a...

Brad built this place with his own 2 hands and he did an amazing job! The cabins are small but quaint and clean. We stayed in the upstairs main lodge room which has a super comfortable queen bed, full bed, sleeper sofa, good-sized dinner table, and a huge wrap-around porch with SPECTACULAR views of the Stairway Icefall (the 2nd largest...

The choices in McCarthy and Kennicott are very limited when it comes to accommodation, and quite expensive. We opted to save a bit of money and relive travel days of our youth by staying at the Kennicott River Lodge. We originally booked a private cabin, but the owner, Brad, offered us the top floor of the lodge with an amazing...

Stayed in the "suite", which is one large room in the main building. No ensuite bathroom and the shower/ toilets are suited for an isolated place so do not expect too much comfort. It does the job for a short stay, but nothing much to write home about

Were in The Wrangells for a hiking trip and this was our accommodation before and after trip. Comfortable cabins in a great location near the footbridge to Mccarthy. Showers and toilet in main building so be prepared to walk 100m from cabins for amenities. Considering how isolated this place is thats fine. Friendly hosts and their dogs.

We stayed in the “suite.” You are totally paying for the view, which you could get in the cabins for less. While it is indeed a big spacious room, it does not have a bathroom and one needs to go downstairs and then outside to access the shared bathrooms for the hostel. It got very cold at night and so...

The View is amazing in every room and cabin. You see the Root Glacier, which is a wonder. The service is excellent!! There only 1 thing, you share a bathroom and a lobby. It's kind of a pain when ur waiting. Other than that it's worth going if you're in McCarthy

We stayed for 3 nights in cabin #1. What a spectacular view of Kennicott mine and glacier. Our cabin was charming and rustic. We met great people and had interesting conversations while spending time in the main lodge. I would definitely stay here again. A great place for those looking for a comfortable Alaskan experience, not for those in need...

Loved our stay at the Kennicott River Lodge! We stayed in a cabin which faces the ice fall and glacier offering a spectacular view all day long. The cabins are very basic just including bed and futon. Use of kitchen, bathrooms shower are all in the main lodge which is just a short walk from the cabins. All of the...

“The cabins have a well lit clean outhouse next door, if you get up in the night be sure to get a cabin right next door.”

“Cabins are wonderful for up to 4. The lofts are fun for older kids or active adults (you need to climb ladder). this is Alaska - you will use an outhouse for the cabins but great showers available. Rustic but clean”
