We spent over a week at The Black Boys recently and I have nothing but good things to say. We stayed in room 108 The Nelson Room. It was spotlessly clean with the biggest bed We have ever slept in. This is the only place I have ever stayed and not had to ask for more coat hangers! The two...

I was part of a group of 6 that had an evening meal. We all had main courses and desserts. The portions were very generous, well cooked and tasty. Pleasant and polite staff. The venue is a bit noisy when busy and we had booked for 7.30pm though we didn't get seated until 7.50pm are my only gripes.

We were recommended to try the Black Boys, so booked for Sunday at lunchtime. Very busy when arrived, but shown to our rather small table for two. Had the mussels to start which were fine, then the mixed roast for main. Meal arrived but was cold, so after telling the manager another meal was brought. This was slightly hotter but...

Knowing this place over many years I recommended it to my other half for lunch. We drove for an hour through the rain to get there and settled down to hamhock (for her) and plaice for me. She enjoyed her meal/mine was okay. The plaice was a little undercooked and the new potatoes and green beans served with it a...

We often visit the Black Boys en route to the coast. A busy and popular venue so booking at peak times would be advised. Always found a buzzy atmosphere, friendly waiting staff and a comprehensive and varied menu. The food is freshly cooked, portions generous and of a high quality. Never stayed there so cannot comment on the accommodation.

Amazing food, fantastic pub, great locally sourced food, friendly atmosphere When a pub is full for dinner nearly every night it's a good sign! A adhoc visit on a Tuesday night, it was full, we got squeezed in, lovely menu of fresh fish as always & some dishes with a special twist, I always enjoy the steak, large portion which...

Went to the Black Boys hotel for lunch yesterday as I was meeting up with a friend. I had the chilli beef wrap with chips and salad, and it was delicious. Drinks are a little on the pricey side but you definitely won't go away hungry!!
