Our first Bread & Breakfast on our road trip around Ireland was Dun Ard in Dungarvan. The cottage had a great view of Dungarvan Harbor. Entering we were greeted by our host Joe and directed to our en suit room. We paused on the way to admire Joe's great collection of Waterford crystal. Joe and Anne's collection were displayed throughout their home. Our room was very spacious and included skylights that provided abundant light and a cool breeze. The bath was just as spacious with nice extras of double sinks, grand soaking tub and large shower. I especially liked the unusual square toilet. For dinner, Joe directed us a short distance to the great restaurants and pubs in Dungarvan Harbor. After a welcomed and relaxed night on the spacious bed with an abundance of pillows, we were invited into their wonderfully cozy dinning room for breakfast. I must say, it was the finest and most romantic breakfast we've ever enjoyed! Beautiful decor with curios of beautiful Waterford crystal that included, my favorite, a rare crystal piano. Included was wonderful soft Irish music to set the mood. Anne provided us with a true Irish breakfast that included Irish bacon, orange marmalade and great coffee all served on linen table cloth and napkins. This was a wonderful, unforgettable experience that set the bar for our next six nights as we continued our tour. Joe and Anne were exceptional host that gave us a feeling of staying with family! I enjoyed a two night stay in Dun Ard in August 2023 with my Mum and my son. The service we received from start to finish was excellent. The decor and cleanliness is second to none and I would highly recommend. We will definitely be returning!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at Dún Ard! We were able to find it easily as there is a small sign out front identifying the B&B, and parking was no hassle. The host, Joe, was welcoming on arrival and provided local recommendations. The B&B was very clean and quiet, and we had a very filling breakfast in the morning!

An amazing location with wonderful hosts. Received a warm welcome from Joe and some good ideas for how to spend the day and evening. Took a nice exercise walk along the coast road near Helvick Head, took some nice photos of the surrounding landscape and watched the locals swimming away in the clear, crystal ocean (some had there dogs swimming with them in the well protected coves. Practiced my Gaelic with locals I met along the road. That evening, as Joe suggested, we went into Downey's Pub in Dungarvan, about 10 minutes away. It was a mighty music session attended by at least a dozen musicians. The MC was wonderful and gave eeveryonea chance to join in the fun. Probably one of the best sessions I've attended (and I've been to all 32 Counties). There were harpers, fiddlers, a concertina, 3 guitar players an uileann piper and several singers. Everyone was welcome, the Guinness was delicious and it was a great old night. A family visiting from Breton sang several songs in French and the Breton language as well. Next morning we had a beautiful full Irish breakfast. I recommend Dun Ard, An Rinn (Ring) and Dungarvan mightily.

Fantastic short stay with Joe and Anne to County Waterford and the Dungarvan area. Joe provided us with terrific recommendations for dining and local sights. Offered a wonderful breakfast and were able to accommodate our gluten free preferences. Would highly recommend.

We recently stayed in the Dun Ard for four nights and could not have asked for a more comfortable and pleasant base in the Rinn Gaeltacht. From the moment we arrive, Joe was on hand to help and advise on where to go, where to eat and much more. Our room (Oyster) was super comfortable with every amenity you could wish for and a wonderful view to boot. Excellent breakfast every morning with beautfully served fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, juice followed by a choice of cooked breakfast, all freshly cooked, tea/coffee, toast and brown bread. We could not fault this guest house. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely two-night stay in the Rinn Gaeltacht. Loved our stay, loved the area and thought that Dún Ard was fabulous. We were particularly impressed with the wonderful breakfast, especially since the restrictions due to Covid_19 at the time meant a buffet was not possible. My partner and I are looking forward to returning again soon.
