Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights during our trip to Ireland. Ballyrafter was our favorite place we stayed! The house and grounds were so beautiful, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The location is idyllic, with short drives to many great cities and nature walks. Lismore

Peaceful and quiet stay in the lovely Lismore. Returned from night out to lovely warm beds. They had turned on the electric blanket. Wow! Very restful night. Coffee machine in the room. We had a delicious breakfast. Will return to stay again.

Great location within easy walking distance of Lismore town, 15 kms. from the Vee scenic drive and close to all the amenities of the Blackwater Valley, including Youghal. Ardmore and Clonea strand are just a short distance away. Friendly and very helpful staff who are most concerned that guests get the most from their stay. Comfortable rooms wifth plenty of space. The breakfast set us up for days of touring and waking. We found 3 nights to be ideal. As there are not many eating places open early in the week, dinner was provided on request and was most enjoyable - fish and steak choice, not sure about vegetarians. Very relaxing and hospitable,

Large room, on the first floor. No elevator but I didn’t expect one since it’s a B&B. Lovely setting. The room didn’t have enough electrical outlets but the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was smallish with a shower but they had facecloths which a lot of B&Bs don’t. The person in charge was very helpful and the restaurant attached to it was excellent. I had a mushroom vol-au lent as a starter and a lamb dish which were both amazing, actually. The breakfast was a full Irish breakfast made to order.

We arrived on Sunday 13th October to stay and join in the celebrations for a 50th Wedding Anniversary. We were greeted like long lost friends and shown to a beautiful large room with lovely countryside views. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. After a happy day we slept soundly and had a lovely breakfast with an open fire.

Had booked for after a Funeral ,The staff where excellent ,very helpful and friendly ,the food wasn’t bad ..I should have asked how much I was going to pay per head ,but I had other things on my mind ,dealing with the death of my husband and trying to console my children .So have to say we the family where very shocked at the price we had to pay , a buffet lunch of wedges ,sausages ,chicken goujons ,sandwiches and tea and coffee .we asked for about 70 people came to €940 have to say it came as a big shock to us .

We organised a family reunion for over 80 people, many who came from around the world, in the Lismore area with Ballyrafter House Hotel as our base. From the outset of our planning for this reunion, the proprietors of Ballyrafter House Hotel, Joe & Noreen, did everything to accommodate us as we tailored the weekends events to suit our needs. From supplying display boards and projectors & screens, organising meals and catering for dietary requirements to working around our off-site excursions, nothing was a task too big. Their flexibility, professionalism and, above all, their friendliness, makes this venue what it is and, in turn, it's what contributed to making our gathering weekend what it was - a wonderful success. Their friendliness permeates down through the hard-working staff, all of whom were wonderfully pleasant and accommodating towards our guests, right from the start of the weekend through to the end. Thank you, Joe, Noreen and all the staff of Ballyrafter House for ensuring that our guests had a wonderful experience, and thank you for the wonderful assistance that you gave to those organising the event.

This hotel was the base for a huge family gathering, the hotel rooms are traditional in style but nonetheless very spacious and comfortable. The hotel did everything to ensure all guests were looked after, whether staying at the hotel or not. The staff were excellent and cannot praise enough their cheerful service and rapport with all. Breakfast was excellent and nothing too much trouble, highly recommend a visit.
