The bad: the roads of Palermo region is way below European standard - avoid "SP" roads whenever possible and stick to the "SS" roads. Even then expect 40 km per hour even on main roads. This means: you have to accept the waiters' "less than forthcoming attitude". Service isn't their thing and few are capable of useful English. Oh, and...

Peaceful and idyllic location in a rural part of Sicily, think narrow winding roads. all good though, hire car essential and then the island is your oyster ;) Staff very helpful. Cooking lesson was delightful, as was the chef. we were a party of 6, with 4 vegetarians, and nothing was too much trouble. we were even treated to free...

Amazing countryside views from this family-run Agriturismo hotel, with a beautiful outdoor pool. The evening "menu of the day" is varied and provides excellent portions of fresh produce from their farm, and all at very reasonable prices. I would recommend visting their farm; going horseriding; visiting Alia and the local caves. Trips further afield should be carefully planned as the...

Food was good. Far away from anywhere if you have no car. Ronnie boyfriend of a member of staff took €70 for a ten minute trip to train and back so don't use him. Not to many can speak English but very friendly staff and great with kids.

We have just returned from a week staying at the Villa Dafne and had a fantastic time. A lot of people reported that the hotel is quite remote in Sicily and they were right, it was about 1 1/2 hrs away from the coast on some fairly dreadful roads. A hire car is a must but we accepted that there...

Lovely surroundings, excellent food and wine, lovely staff and a very nice pool area with a special kid's section. Adding to that is their very own pizza restaurant at the pool side, open till very late. BUT the hotel/agriturismo is located in a highly unreachable place. We arrived late, in the middle of the night, and it was the worst...

The room has minimal facilities and is it simple, but is it enough and very clean. The pool with the sunchairs and the umbrellas is perfect. The hotel is well located 80 km from Palermo and from Agrigento. The pizza is top and the restaurant has the best local food.
