Have stayed here before a couple of times. It’s the only hotel in Valkeakoski, so there is not much to choose from. This time the staff was friendly and helpful. Had reserved musical tickets with the room reservation - great places thank you, and everything went smoothly. Hotel is situated in a beautiful place near the lake. Our room had a parking place view. Hotel is old-fashioned, looking back 90’s, breakfast good enough, but still basic stuff. No air condition in the rooms and the rooms are hot!! This hotel is a basic small town hotel with nothing special. Could easily be more.
The entire hotel is in need of renovation. The rooms does not have any aircondition, in my room it was 29 degrees, I could not sleep at all. Its was poor wifi reach in the rooms. The breakfast was very simple and with not many options. On the plus side it’s the view from the balcony over the water.
Spent a couple of nights in Waltikka whilst away for work and was pretty decent. I found the staff very pleasant and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was okay but I wouldn't go there just for a meal. The view over the lake was really nice. Rooms were clean but we're a t little dated as was the whole hotel. For a couple of nights it was fine and would have no issue using again.
Nice hotel near the lake and good for a business trip to the region. With the conditions and comfort for a fast trip. Not for holidays. The breakfast it's ok for the propose. The room are old but clean.
After my last visit (autumn 2015) the personnel has gotten even worse. The only hotel in the town, so perhaps it's not possible to get good staff, but omg - both the male and the female receptionists are unpolite and not-professionals. Breakfast very basic. Hotel needs updating. It's clean, but everything from 90's. We stayed there because it's the only hotel in the town. Plusses: beautiful view from the balcony and restaurant. Good location and nice outdoor areas for a walk.
We visited there with family of 3. Our daughter was attending for a figute skating camp. Hotel is located just 500 m from a center and just 300m from ice rink. There are usually KHL hockey teams also in July / August for training purposes. Hotel itself is a little old and worn out. Food... well... better to walk downtown.
A charming, very very clean hotel by a lake. Friendly people, restaurant, good rooms, hot showers and plenty of it. Comfy beds. In Finland, hotel room floors are tile/hardwood....so sensible and clean. Showers have good water pressure, are reliably hot and did I say clean? Make sure to stay at the Waltikka if you are birding in this part of Finland. Excellent and abundant birds during migration. And, we were goven a lake view room without even asking! Balcony.
I was in Hotel Waltikka just for 2 days. That's a very nice hotel, good bed, the room is large and has a beautiful view for the lake. The people that works there are very helpful and nice. The food is good and the localization is perfect!
I stayed a lot in the hotel in the 90:s. Now I'm back and it looks the same. The room was clean but the tiles in the bathroom are cracked. The bed and the pillows were not that comfortable. The worst part was the restaurant. It was almost empty and we were a group of seven persons. The first person that got the food had almost finished eating when the food was served to the next couple of persons. When the last four of us got their food the rest had finished eating. I had a hamburger that was very dry. The WiFi had a very weak reception in the room.
Not so good at all. Room was a family room, quite normal with two beds and one bed for two. We also had a theather dinner whirc was horrible. Newer eat it. rder Rooms ware out of date and dinnig room was like a bristo in the small mediterian town. We were forced to odred our meel at front desk aand our vine game after our main cource. Iˆm not able to recomend this hotel.
