We all want to come away from our vacations refreshed and with good memories. The hosts at Fraser Highlands were such special people. Their welcoming home, filling breakfast and good conversation made this a wonderful experience. We were in the queen bedroom on the second floor of the house. The views from our room of Tasman Bay were spectacular. Our...

This cottage is situated a few minutes' drive outside of Motueka. It has fantastic views over the valley and the sea. It is well equipped for a self-catering stay. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and provided useful advice on activities in the area. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Sue and Jim, the owners, are lovely and made us feel very welcome. Their rustic cottage is on top of a hill in the grounds of their house, with fabulous views. Access is via a good quality unsealed road. Inside the 1-bedroom cottage there were many thoughtful touches, eg fruit, chocolates, good range of coffees/teas, condiments, cooking oil, magazines, books,...

What we liked: The nice location with great views, the hospitality of our hosts, the nice and clean room (the room was in the house on ground floor), the breakfast, Jim and Sue's sightseeing tips, their support when we had to change our travel plans, ..., everything!

We just loved our stay here. Jim and Sue just " took care of us"!! Their home is their castle and they treat their guests like royalty - they truly care about you. It was our first trip to NZ and we arrived jet lagged and exhausted from west coast USA. They ensured that we arrived at their place safely...

We had a peaceful time at the cottage. Sue and Jim were wonderful hosts, happy to answer our questions about what to do, how to use a wood stove (our first), and how to work the oven in the cottage (there is a secret to the knobs). They actually lived in the cottage while their home was built. If you...

The cottage at Fraser Highland Retreat was the highlight in accommodation terms of our whole four weeks in New Zealand. It's up a long drive and is therefore a really great place to get away from it all, whilst being only a short drive from Motueka or Kaiteriteri (where we would definitely recommend doing one of the Abel Tasman cruises...

We stayed with Sue & Jim in October 2015 and somehow it slipped and we never wrote any reviews (for our entire trip) but this is a place one will not forget. Sue & Jim are such wonderful hosts, that was the nicest thing about staying in this lovely B&B. The room we had upstairs was nice and clean. The...

What a wonderful place. This is a little bit of Scotland well worth a visit. We stayed a couple of nights, on the second night we were entertained to a bag pipe rendition by the owner Jim. He is of course an accomplished player and truly amazing to boot. The B and B is very well appointed with stunning views...

This review is well overdue but not somewhere we could forget. We stayed for 3 nights in January and could not have wished for a nicer play to stay, Jim & Sue were wonderful hosts who could not do enough for us and were really helpful with information on the best places to see and go to. We stayed in...
