We are going away for our Anniversary aren't we !!! I had promised my wife I would arrange for a stay away and it had totally passed me by. "Absolutely", I said, "I have it all in hand." Locked in my office I searched for a special hotel for the occasion and eventually came up with the Talbot Hotel. The...

Booked a double room for our 25th wedding anniversary. On arrival found we were upgraded to a junior suite. The room was lovely, with a four-poster bed, beautiful linen, large well appointed bathroom, and views over fields down to the river. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent.

Friendly welcoming staff. Big light airy room and excellent bathroom.... But....decor very tired 20th century in need of an update and food very disappointing. Portion size very meagre and style ruled over taste and substance. The staff couldn't handle breakfast orders at all and nearly all our orders were either wrong or forgotten. I think laurels have been rested upon...

......Not the Talbot Hotel, that's for sure!! We spent a fantastic weekend here in August to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We chose the James Martin Book Launch offer back in January, then he parted ways a month later!! The package was excellent value, we stayed in the Fitzwilliam Suite which was wonderful, a bit of a climb up to the...

Excellent location for visiting the moors. Helpful staff, great food and good service. This hotel does not have tea making facilities in the room but you can ring from you room for it to be delivered to you when you want a cuppa, equally you can get refreshments from the bar (alcoholic and non alcoholic).

We stayed here for two nights in August. Beautiful hotel, still keeping that unique (non-chain) feel. Staff very friendly and helpful and extremely pet-friendly - we took our well behaved cocker spaniel who was welcomed by all. Great location to visit North Yorkshire and the breakfast was outstanding. Menu in restaurant looked very good though we didn't try it -...

Simply a superb two night stay, whilst attending Concerts over two evenings at nearby Castle Howard. Couldn't fault the very high service levels in this family owned Hotel, going back to the mid 1750s, so well steeped in real history ! We will return here & sample more of what Malton has to offer.....

We have stayed here many times in the last year while visiting family. As always we receive a warm welcome and excellent service. The rooms and especially the beds are very comfortable. We had a delightful meal in the restaurant on Sunday evening. Worth trying the wonderful hot chocolate drink served in your room!
