We failed to let the venue know what time we were arriving, so arrived between the lunchtime trade and the evening trade, as soon as I entered the dining room I was met with a super greeting, one of the owners welcomed us, organized the room key, and showed me the best place to park - which was right outside...

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. Ideal for disabled access. It is dog friendly. Parking right outside the room is a plus. The food was absolutely excellent. Not to mention the friendly staff who were all lovely. The owner was also very lovely and very accommodating. The surrounding countryside...

Stayed Friday and Saturday nights, ate dinner on the Friday night. Warm welcome from staff, lovely rooms - well heated which was welcome as the temperatures were below freezing! Large shower, comfortable beds, good hearty breakfast. Pub is warm and comfortable - old style and atmospheric, which was very welcome. ;Evening meal was lovely, well cooked and reasonably priced. A great pub with good value food in the bar, and reasonably priced rooms. A traditional country inn with beamed ceilings, log fire etc. Outside rooms are available with no stairs to climb, and you can park right outside the room so its easy to get your luggage in and out. Friendly, helpful staff. Good full English breakfast.

Stayed here for a couple of nights just before Christmas. Lovely room with excellent en suite shower. Food was cooked to order, tasty and plentiful. This is a great place to stay if visiting Castle Howard.

I arrived here late in the evening. It is easy to find, and about a 10min drive from the train station. The place was really quiet, and in the middle of nowhere. The room itself was really lovely. Very well kept. Clean feel with plenty of lighting. Warm and welcoming. It was quite a narrow room, however it made up...

Took a little while to find someone to book in on arrival, but once we did it was a quick and efficient process. We were in a family room in the main building, it has two rooms really, one with two single beds and a main bedroom with double bed, dresser, and settee. Both rooms were very spacious and well...

We wanted to stay within easy distance of York, so we could watch the marathon. We knew of the Cresswell Arms from an earlier visit and weren't disappointed. We had a lovely room with en suite, though the lighting over the bathroom mirror could have been better. Our evening meal in the bar was first rate, and the breakfast was...

Lovely local pub with a straight forward menu of well cooked food with a twist. We'd been travelling around for a couple of days and this was our third and best meal of the trip. Good scampi with proper home made chips like my Granny used to make 👍🏻 The Brie bites wrapped in Parma ham were lovely and light....
