My Son and I stayed here at the end of our 6th day's cycling on a Lands End to John O'Groats charity tandem ride at the end of May 2019. This was a very much needed retreat after a long day in the saddle – it was short mileage but there had been a lot of difficult obstacles to negotiate with a tandem on the canal paths. Stacey, our host, was very welcoming and even popped out to buy us milk to save us venturing out again. I should point out that this was not a B&B in the traditional sense and was more of a self-catering apartment. It was split on two floors with the kitchen/lounge and bedroom upstairs and the bathroom downstairs, but all private behind its own door to the outside world. There was a lot of room to spread our kit out so that we could wash and dry it ready for re-organisation and repacking in the morning. My son rated the properties we stayed at based on size of the tv and the channels available and this one rated highly – large screen and Netfix. The only bed was a double, which we knew when we booked. The sofa was certainly comfortable enough to sleep on but we were tired enough to share the double and not notice each other snorting and grunting through the night. The property is set on an equestrian farm that also breeds peacocks and we were treated to a full peacock display in the morning. I don’t think it was meant for us personally but the peahen didn’t seem to be very impressed so I guess he should have been happy with the audience he got. Overall, lovely place to stay – well appointed, clean and quiet.

I stayed at the Saddlery Cheshire while traveling through the UK with my dog. I arrived later than expected (around midnight) and Stacey was waiting for me, she was an amazing host. Both me and my dog had the most amazing time there, we will definitely be back!

Beautifully furnished and very clean self contained apartment, couldn't ask for more. The owners are very helpful but not intrusive and if you get the chance to walk up 'The Cloud' (which is easily cheated by driving to the steps), make sure you do. The views are out of this world! Thank you Stacey and Danny, I will definitely be back.
