This is a slightly weird review, as I have never stayed at The Lamb. I live less than half a mile away. But some family members stayed there a couple of years ago for my 50th birthday celebrations, and they couldn't speak highly enough of the place. But the real reason for putting this review in is that I know what Guy puts into this town. He's an aquaintance rather than a close friend, so this is not just a mate bigging him up. He and Jan also run a catering outlet on one of the local industrial estates, and believe me, you have to queue (not too long!) to get your bacon butty - the quality is just fantastic. They also run the catering operation at Congleton Town FC, a couple of bye ball kicks away from The Lamb, and again, it's a superb offering for a wee club in the 9th tier of the English football pyramid. Great pies, and a selection of real ales on tap - what's not to like? Basically, between the two of them, they don't do anything unless it's worth doing right. It's been a tough year for them with hardly any football and limited footfall in the B&B, but if you have any reason at ail to visit our great wee town, I would recommend the B&B, the football club and the catering outlet on Back Lane. You won't find better.

Just enjoyed a second stay and a very warm welcome at Jan and Guy’s lovely guesthouse. Rooms are well decorated and spotlessly clean. Bed very comfortable. Breakfasts staggered. No danger of going away hungry here with a wide choice. Looking forward to our third visit!!!

We've been travelling around all week visiting family and our night at the Lamb Inn was just what we needed. The location is perfect, right in the centre of congleton but way back from the road in a small cul-de-sac type area (with parking!), so very quiet. The owners are hospitable, kind and friendly. We received a warm greeting and for the duration of our stay, nothing was too much to ask. The room was spotlessly clean and bright with modern, tasteful furnishings and the mattresses were extremely comfortable, this teamed with the heavy curtains made sure we both slept right through the night. The breakfast was a choice of traditional English breakfast, coffee, tea, cereals and fruit. All the ingredients were good quality and cooked perfectly, again no breakfast request was too much for our wonderful hosts. We had such a comfortable, relaxing stay and will definitely be back when we visit family again at Christmas (we hope!) or next year. Thank you, Chloe and Marco

Lovely place, very clean, amazing bed, lovely breakfast. The only downside is the bit of traffic noise which I’m not use to as we always sleep with windows open and live in the middle of no-where but I’m being ultra picky.... Would easily stay there again.

Stayed for one night, met at the door by Guy, super friendly host, couldnt do enough for us. Room was perfect, spotless great extras provided in the bathroom, a free box of chocolates as it was valentines day (lovely touch). The spa bath was tremendous, Breakfast everything we could want made to order and again super friendly hosts Guy and Jan. Cant fault it hopefully will be back again sometime. 10 out of 10!
