We stayed five days and sailed every day on their new Topaz Argo. Friendly and very helpful staff at the capitainerie; as the boss says « we are here to help, not to judge. I’ve made all the mistakes our clients make. ». As an intermediate sailor, alone on my sailboat, I felt very secure and looked after out on the lake ! We stayed at the adults only Auberge which gave us a respite from the hussle and bussle of the families vacationing. The Auberge is nice and calm. We also found relexing moments on the hikes, during kayak expeditions and during sailing. Unfortunetly, the staffing difficulties made it impossible to have our meals at the Auberge. This meant that we took our meals at the main dining room with all the families. I have nothing against children and vacationing families, we have done it numerous times ourselves, but we had hoped for more peaceful meals. Hopefully this will be resolved.…
We had a wonderful 2-day getaway here. The service was excellent and the staff enthusiastic and kind. Whether you want to spend the day snowshoeing or x-country skiing or just reading a book beside the (gas) fire, Jouvence comes highly recommended. We look forward to coming back during a different season to see the beauty again. PS: Pierre has great taste in music!
KInd personnel, comfortable, simple lodgings However, food rather toxic and invariable: sausages, fried chips, absence of food for non-meat eaters Salads always contained vinegar, which rendered them sometimes impossible to eat Desserts always the same: cakes and fruit salad. And ice cream for the kids, which rendered them addicted to sugary stuff
Definitely rustic, which was a weird location for a conference. LOTS of black flies, everywhere. The rooms were not that clean (really dirty floors, sheets didn't seem like they were recently washed). Recommend against bringing luggage with wheels as the paths to the bunk rooms are gravel-covered.
I needed to get away from the pressure of my job and to reconnect with nature and it was great! I stayed in the little shack 104 and it was clean and it had everything I needed. No TV but the fire place was hypnotic. I was able to relax and to enjoy a few walks around. The food was ok, a lot of choices, but not very flavorfull...
Recently stayed 2 nights at this "Resort" for a Family Wedding. It was an outdoor Wedding ceremony at the side of a lake with the lake and mountains in the background. Unfortunately it was quite cool and overcast, but the couple managed to have their ceremony without rain. The setting was Spectacular and there is a permenant Gazebo their for this exact purpose. Staff were very attentive. Wedding dinner was excellent. Breakfasts were great with everything you could want. Dinner on the Saturday evening was disappointing, and of course there are always the requisite dummies who think it's charming when their 6 year olds go alone to a Buffet and trashes the food. There are a lot of activities, some of which the younger set accessed - mountain bikes, kayaks, a rock climbing wall, basketball, volleyball. It must be lots of fun in the summer and if it had been a warmer fall weekend it would have been perfect. We had a FANTASTIC fire pit, just behind our building, with chairs and benches, which we used from 11:00 am TIL 6:00 pm on the Sunday and it became Meeting Place Central for all the Wedding Guests, and was a lot of fun, with drinks and appis. The let down here are the rooms. In 1956 it would have been the height of luxury. Now, the rooms are old, dated and lacking in many amenities and the walls are paper thin. My Sister even brought her own iron, which was smart, because they don't have them in the rooms. The rooms are old with very dated furniture, no TV, no Coffee Maker, no Microwave, etc. Our room was spacious, and bathroom was dated but otherwise fine, except bathtub floor is EXTREMELY SLIPPERY when wet. The score for activities, things to do and food would be around 4, but the rooms are a 3 for size and cleanliness and they have a nice balcony.…
We had a one week team retreat in Canada and stayed at „La petite auberge“. It was an amazing experience to see how easy it is to tie the business meetings into the vast nature of this place and the many outdoor activities right in front of the door. The food was incredible and the staff did everything to fulfill even the smallest wish and request. Every staff member was attentive, friendly and willing to go the extra mile for satisfying their customers. I do plan to come back with my family soon, so they can experience this great place for themselves.
Very pretty place. Which has a lake 5 min walk away. Jouvence is a big place. We stay at at la petite auberg. They have this other part to it. I believe it's individual houses for families. Those are nearer to the lake. This hotel is cosy. Room is very clean. Simple furniture and just enough hangers for our jackets and clothes. Room has enough lights and even a ceiling fan(for summer i guess) The people are warm, they go above and beyond to provide us with information and are always checking if you are doing ok. Mathieu even remembered me and we met while he was on the way out to the carpark. It is quiet at night, which was what we were looking for. Away from city noise. The location is about 15 min drive from mont orford, but unfortunately we missed it due to the constant rainy days. Nonetheless we might jus be back again next time! Because we are 24 hours away from canada Oh did i mention that their breakfast lunch and dinner were all so good. Above expectation. We have fish and chicken for lunch every day. And dinner was fine dining style with enough options to get us going. Well done chef!…
We invited our guests to Jouvence for the weekend to celebrate our wedding. They do events in their reception hall. Most of our guests opted to stay the night and had an incredibly fun weekend, spending time hiking and on the lake. The staff at Jouvence are exceptional. All throughout the weekend the staff knew that we were the bride and groom and took special care to make sure the event went without a hitch. The food was amazing. Many of our guests commenting that it was the best wedding banquet they had ever tasted. The entire menu was a hit, and we got to taste all the dishes ahead of time and tweak them with the chef to our liking. The steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the salmon was cooked to perfection. No small feat when you are serving 90 people all at once! When we retired to our room we found a bottle of sparkling wine and some dipped strawberries, and the next day we were offered Mimosa's on the house. The organization ahead of the event was top notch. Sophie, our event coordinator, followed up with us regularly to make sure we had all the information we needed to plan the weekend. She also took all our comments and requests back to the staff, and everything was perfect on the big day. Go to Jouvence for the activites, to be with nature, and for the amazing service and staff. We were overjoyed that our wedding was a weekend affair for our guests and we have amazing memories. We'll definitely be back!…
I attended a workshop here and stayed in a room in La Poudrière. My stay was quiet and peaceful. Sitting on a chair with a drink and looking over the lake was quite peaceful. The staff are great and can speak English well. The bar is well equipped and the restaurant makes delicious food. They accommodated my vegan (végétalien) diet well although it took one meal where they just had boiled vegetables for me to realize that they had to think a bit harder. After that all was good. The room was large and comfortable. The bed is a bit harder than I like and the pillows not my favourite but I slept well nonetheless. No TV in the room but internet is great so easy to get some entertainment on my computer. A few bugs were around outside but very few so not a problem. Parking was conveniently close to La Poudrière. The area is quiet and peaceful. The delightful town of Magog is less than a half hour drive away, which makes for a nice break. This place was great for a workshop and would be an excellent weekend getaway.…
