We stayed for two nights as had an event in Inverness - not too far to travel to Inverness (just 20-30 minutes) The owners were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Beds were comfy and room was warm. Breakfast was tasty - especially the porridge :) I would definitely stay here again - beautiful gardens

Perfect place to visit the Cairngorms and surrounding area. We had the cooked breakfast and found the rooms comfortable. We particularly enjoyed sharing stories with the hosts Rebecca and Andy and with other guests in the lounge. Highly recommend this very comfortable hostel.

Wonderful homely lodge, with a communal lounge and dining room which means that you get to meet and interact with other guests. We didn't eat here, but the food looked fantastic and was thoroughly recommended by those who did. We were there for nature photography and there was a nice piece of woodland behind the lodge which yielded crossbills and...

The thing with the Highlands is that the rhythm of life happens at its own unrushable pace. So if you want to keep dashing along with high-speed travel, high-speed WiFi and high-speed entertainment, not only are you going to be sorely disappointed in what you find here, but you'll miss out on the delights that really are worth slowing down...

We travel looking for birds in Scotland. Andy knows about it and shows us some good places to visit near the hotel. He advised us the best way to do it considering the weather previsions. They make you feel as you are at home.

An excellent place to stay. We did so for 5 nights. Very hospitable. We cooked our own dinners in a well equipped kitchen. Breakfast was basic but enough. Porridge is always a good start to the day! Would stay again if in the area. Good base to explore from. Lots of helpful information to be found. Great wlaks & cycling...

All our correspondence /queries had been dealt with efficiently beforehand as Rebecca had said she would not be there to greet us and we were left in the very capable hands of Amie ,who worked very hard to make sure we were happy. Lovely evening meal and breakfast served before we set off on the Speyside Way

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We invite guests in to our home, Fraoch Lodge, to use as if it were their own. You can sit in our lounge in front of the open fire, join us for meals (or cook your own); share stories of your adventures or play board games. We have chosen not to put a TV into the Lodge, but instead supply games and books. We also offer guiding services for walks and tours around our local area showcasing places which enhance your knowledge of our area; some of which you may well not have heard about. We have a single room and a triple room, but most of our rooms are twins. 2 Rooms have private bathroom facilities. Some rooms can be combined to offer as family accommodation areas. We hope to see you in the Highlands of Scotland shortly. ... more   less
