The room was clean and had all of the things you need (kettle, fridge, towels etc). We had a 'suite' with two bedrooms so there was enough space for us and separate small kitchen area.

The breakfast was shockingly bad - I looked at it and just didn't have any for my entire stay. You're better off just buying bread and eggs and making it in your room (if you have a kitchenette).

The worst part was the horrifically uncomfortable bed. The mattress was so terrible, the bed was visibly concave to look at. I got maybe 4 hours sleep a night & now I'm home, my back still hurts. Would have been better to sleep on the floor.

The place could be so amazing. Great location and nice staff - if only they just updated it. They've been able to get away with running the place like this bc very little competition in Ekenas. Now a new hostel has opened, they'll probably start losing business and maybe that will make them change.

The bed was so bad, for that reason alone I wouldn't stay there again.

Decent size room and location but cleaning very poor. Only after we complained there was an improvement including changing a grubby shower curtain. Not much choice at breakfast. Lots of potential to be a really good motel but need to train cleaners to improve standards and need more breakfast choice.

Location is very good, and had a nice garden and bar area, but other aspects less positive. Rooms in line with 3 star motel rating. Breakfast very disappointing, the selection was not in line with price of room and often things had run out or needed to be asked for.

Restaurant is fine, nice indoor courtyard. I liked the shrimp bread, the scnitzel was alright.

Our room was like a bad flashback from 1987. I tried to call room service with the cool museum piece phone, but it was no longer in service.

So if you're a low budget traveller and revel in nostalgia, go for it. Location is perfect.

The best pepper steak I have had in years. We have had it on a number of occasions and always excellent. The service is fast and friendly and we always feel as VIP guests. The restaurant looks from the outside as something you would not expect to have such excellent food as they have.

If you want to eat Ekenäs' tastiest pepper steak, you should visit this small restaurant. With a nice garden. They also have very good fish of the day.
+ a good little menu for children. Summer open from 14:00

Didn't stay in the hotel , just day-tripping but had dinner . Copious and tasty salads and fish main course equally good . Service very friendly , seems also to be a popular place with the locals .Wine very reasonably priced [ for Finland ] . Worth a visit if you are passing through .

Even though this is called a motel, doesn't really do justice to it. This is a very nice hotel (IMO) just next to the Tammisaari (or Ekenäs, as it is locally known) beach and piers and thus very centrally located. As this is a quite small but idyllic and romantic coastal town, distances within the town are very small and it's ideal for walking around.

The hotel properties, as others have written, are indeed in a slight need of renovation as they have aged, but I consider it to be in context with the surroundings, really. I wouldn't even want a 5-star hotel in Ekenäs! Staff is friendly and helpful and while the breakfast is the usual continental fare but you get a great oceanfront view in the summertime - and even if it was raining, the dining lounge isn't too bad either.

Rooms vary, but generally are good for the price. They also have larger "family suites" which are more like small apartment rooms. We stayed at one of these, and were very pleased. The only thing really missing was air conditioning, as the rooms get really hot if it's a warm summer day.

All in all, this place is on the money. I have stayed twice and never really been disappointed - and will most definitely return if I was staying overnight.

A good place to stay in Ekenas/Tammisaari.
Centrally located. It offers different types of accommodation, so, please ask the people there for your specific request before going there.
The rooms are clean and located in two floor buildings just like classic motels (for instance as for the French Campanile's).
In our rooms the shower in the bathroom had no box and this is was an annoyance (yes, not a big one, but I do not understand why in many hotels they do not have box for showers, being a good thing even for them while cleaning the bathrooms).
The parking is free in the building area.
The breakfast is good.
We did not tried the restaurant, so we cannot say anything about it.
