Excellent lodging and spa for holiday. First I went to hiking around Nokia and after that relaxing baths, sleeping and breakfast felt so good. I came here on winter and I saw some summer activity sites. I have never tested them but I think they are a good addition to summer vacation.
Yövyimme 12.9.-13.9.2022. Kylpylä oli mukava ja remontoitu. Toista oli huone. Lampunvarjostimet olivat revenneet ja rikki. Patjansuojuksessa oli ruskeita tahroja. Ikkunan väli täynnä kuolleita kärpäsiä. Huoneen viidestä spottivalaisimesta toimi kaksi. Kylpytossut, jotka yleensä ilmaiset, maksoivat 5€. Ravintola Little Italy: Grillipihvi niin sitkeä, etten pystynyt syömään. Tarjoilija ei oikein reagoinut, vaikka tästä mainitsimme. Aamiainen hyvä ja runsas. Kaikkiaan 50-vuotislahjaksi saatu reissu oli kyllä hieman pettymys. We stayed on 12.9.-13.9.2022. The Spa it self was nice and updated. Though not the room. The lamp shades were broken. Madress cover had brown stains. Between the windows there were lots of died insects. Only two of five spotlights were working. Bath slippers, usually free of charge costed 5€. Restaurant little Italy: Grilled Steak was so hard and dry that it was impossible to eat. The waiter did not react to our feedback. The breakfast was good with lots of varieties. Alltough was my 50-years present trip a slighly disappointment.…
Spa was a perfect choice for a family with pre-teenagers, they enjoyed the slides and we especially the hot tub and relaxing steam sauna. We will surely be back for a swim but not to stay over night. We had a Standard Family Four -room on the 4th floor. Due to location at the end of the hallway the room was quiet but that's about all good there is to say... The bathroom smelled even though the ventilation seemed to work ok, beds had seen better days and the tiny sofa (where our teenagers slept) made a terrible noise every time one of them turned even a little. TV kept on freezing/turning off and the hairdryer smelled really burned until it stopped working. Most of the lights didn't work at all and cleners had obviously skipped the floors... Breakfast in itself was ok, but the breakfast area was so tight that it was hard to move in crowd, and basic things like for example veggies and yoghurt ran out. Two very busy and stressed waiters came to empty our table when two of us were still eating/drinking coffee - I managed to keep my plate but not the fork and knive...the situation was so absurd that I didn't even know what to say, just finished my coffee and left. I can't really recommend the hotel, but as said, spa is nice.…
Although we are not spa people, we had a lovely stay at this hotel. It is a 40-minute-walk from the Nokia railway station or by bus 40 minutes from Tampere Keskustori or 10 minutes from the Nokia railway station. You can pay with a contactless credit card. Behind the ugly facade, you will find a modern hotel. Public spaces and most rooms are renovated as our suite on the top 5th floor. We have been at Oulu Eden Hotel and I got the same vibes from here. It has been the same architect for both hotels and also for Tropiclandia Vaasa where we have never stayed. All three hotels were completed in 1989, 1990, and 1991, just before the recession of the 90s. Our suite was modern and very spacious. It had a small sauna with outdoor pool views. The balcony with lake views would need a complete renovation. It was also dirty. Luckily, slippers were provided with bathrobes as in every room category at this hotel. We had an excellent pasta dinner at the hotel's Little Italy restaurant. I would recommend a table reservation because this restaurant is quite small. You can also have a buffet dinner at Esmeralda restaurant on the 2nd floor. Next to the reception is Food Market where you can buy drinks and food from 11:00 to 23:00. The Esmeralda breakfast was pleasantly calm. We have noticed that at spa hotels people are eating breakfast earlier in order to get to the spa before check-out. Our stay had good value for 199 euros.…
We were very happy to spend a night with family in the hotel, especially with the possibility to visit the spa as well. The room was clean and air-conditioned. Breakfast is always good at Scandic. Hope to see you soon again.
From hotel web page youll see pictures that the hotel is renovated, but this is only in some parts. You will pay same price if your room is new or old. Old rooms are very old and not cosy at all! In budget travel this hotel is fine, but not recommended for couples or familys with bigger kids.
Nice hotel with a big pool area. Rooms are quite worn and in need of renovation. Price too high for the value, we paid 480€ for two normal 2person rooms. Breakfast typical scandinavian breakfast. Pool area is very nice! View from breakfast area is nice although there are many trees blocking the astonishing view over the lake Saviselkä. There were only two chargers for electric cars.
3,5 stars A mini holiday with a well behaving 3,5-year-old. The room we had booked was revealed at the check-in not to have air conditioning and was not one of the remodelled ones. Upgrade possible for either 10€ or 30€ into one of the renovated room. Only one 10€ standard was left but it didn’t have a working tv, so we could’ve have it for free. Decided to take the superior one with 30€ extra. Room was a pleasant surprise. Big beds and you could turn the thermostat lower. Also very quiet - until there’s actual noise in the corridor. We also liked the spa area. I felt the air war warmer and everything had been repaired or painted. The new restaurant Little Italy was a disappointing. Higher price, mediocre food. You could order a dish for a child for half a price from the adults’ menu. We were still billed for the full amount. The burger that I got, was fully cooked and the patty was obviously one of those ready-made-ones. Burger was all in all cold and the mozzarella definitely was not buffalo’s. I bet the burger would have been better (or same) in the Food Market stand. I could hear the (new?) waitresses were a bit puzzled (maybe someone more experienced should offer them some support so they know to ask the right questions from customers). Friendly yes, no complaints there. The breakfast was also disappointing - to me. Child was happy to eat pancakes. Narrow aisles. 3-4 different sausages but almost no greens available. Watery scrambled eggs. (Are the cooks too just graduated or just fed up with their job ‘cause that’s what it looks like). Bread did not feel fresh though it might have been. Also: it was the same bread that is available everywhere. Seemed a bit cheap choice to serve. All in all: if you are here for the child, great. But doesn’t really offer anything to the adults. Small improvements with staff and food could go a long way though.…
The friendliness of the employees was awesome, it was a really nice visit. I can recommend to stay there for a day / a few hours. Food at the pool was great too. I had opposite experience a year ago, so I hope that really changed now. Unfortunately the hotel still looks quite old from the outside.
Visiting this hotel after many many years I was delighted by the friendly service. All members of the personnel, from reception desk to pool security, and from breakfast restaurant to housekeeping team they all greeted me and expressed genuine interest towards their customers wellbeing.
