Enjoy your stay in Lumio!
We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Villa La Vista. The location was perfect. A 10 min drive from the Calvi airport. The Villa was stunning with beautiful views of the bay of Calvi and the Citadelle. The room was very nicely decorated and clean. Cleanliness is very important for me. The breakfasts were excellent. I would highly recommend the Villa Vista if you want to visit Calvi. A rental car would be recommended as it is not walking distance to the beach. The Lumio plage is about 1 km from the Villa. We will be back that's for sure! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
we stayed here for 2 nights and love to return. Although a bit pricy with 175 euro's per night, the villa really stands out. You'll stay in a lovely spacious room, tastefully decorated. The room has a small patio with chairs, and a swimming pool is part of the villa and ready to be used. This comes with a free seaview and view on Calvi - relaxing! And it's completed with a great, overcomplete breakfast experience. We love to come back!
My husband and I stayed here for four days in September and did not want to leave! Bernard and Valerie are most charming hosts and go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome. Bernard was most helpful when I first contacted him and was even understanding about the cost of money transfers from UK banks, allowing us to pay up in cash when we left. He supplied great directions (with pictures and all) so we would find Villa La Vista. (In the event we still drove past our turn once as the commercial sign indicated on Bernard’s directions was pretty faded at that point but got lucky second time round – it really is not that difficult to find). The location of the property is out of this world with the bay of Calvi right on your doorstep (you can see the town’s lights blinking at night in the distance). As the area is not built up at all, views of the mountains and the sea are uninterrupted and you can see millions of stars at night – magical! We stayed in the Chantilly Room with terrace and sea-view which also had a little pond with fountain right outsight, not to mention the wonderful terrace with breakfast area and the fantastic swimming pool a few steps down. As others have mentioned there are plenty of sunbeds as well as a big fridge in the pool area. The room itself was lovely and bright, with a more than sufficient bathroom and breath-taking views. Wifi was a little bit slow but once we had connected to the network it worked perfectly fine for us. There is plenty of parking next to the villa – we had a hire car which was extremely useful as there is nothing in walking-distance as such. Calvi airport is only about 10 minutes away and we found it was a very handy place from which to return to mainland France (quicker and cheaper than the ferries) as well as for car hire purposes. Apart from the fantastic location, it is Bernard and Valerie (who moved to Corsica from Belgium a few years ago) who make staying at Villa La Vista such a wonderful experience. And, of course, Lola – their Shi-Tzu puppy! Both Bernard and Valerie speak excellent English and are there to provide advice and guidance whenever you need it without being intrusive in any way. Valerie has her dentist’s surgery in another part of the property and arranges her hours so she can play the perfect hostess in the morning… her freshly-baked cakes, swiss rolls, brioches, tarts etc. are out of this world and made me feel seriously challenged on the domestic front! There are also plenty of fresh breads, cheese, yoghurt, cereal, fruit, boiled eggs and plenty more, not to mention lovely fresh coffee to get you going in the morning. Bernard and Valerie also made some very good recommendations for restaurants and trips and even booked a table for us right by the waterfront in Ile Rousse on our last night. The property is perfectly situated for exploring the north and west coasts as well as the beautiful interior of the island and many of the local perched villages. We were extremely happy with our choice in every way and would return in a heart-beat. In fact, this part of Corsica is definitely in our top 3 of potential retirement spots (now we just have to win the lottery)!!!…
