The swimming pool in the picture was changed and the hotel is now brand new. I will show you how it looks now. This hotel was completely refurbished with details of good taste. It is in Limenas, 600 metres from the coast and pedestrian street. We had room 108, very modern with balcony to the back. I missed not having an electric kettle to make tea and coffee in the room. The owner provided us of it. He speaks little English but Poppy, his wife speaks very well. Breakfast is very good but without croissants and fruit. Coffee is very good as well as the Greek yoghurt which I love with honey and the scrambled eggs. I recommend going to the west-side beaches, Tarsanas, Louloudis and La Scala Beach (for younger people), also Pachi beach. My favourite is Louloudis, to spend the whole day. Sandy, Calm and shallow sea. If you prefer wavy sea, go to the east-side beaches. The best is to rent a car. We did it at Potos.…

Rooms are lovely and pool area very well kept. Sadly the owner is unfriendly and this makes it less attractive. Housekeeping staff were lovely and went the extra mile but the owner needs to step up and learn basic customer service skills

Lovely modern hotel, very clean, breakfast excellent.Rooms are small with the hardest bed I have ever slept on,my poor back all week was not good.Shower sprays all over the bathroom and makes the floor really slippy, had to mop up with towels..Biggest problem for us was the lack of bar snacks,no food at all,so had to go out every day for lunch..they even ran out of Red wine on our 4th day there.Got the impression as it was late in season the owner wasn't really bothered..Our 4th time in Thassos and would go back but to another hotel with a friendlier owner and more to offer.

Recently returned from first visit to Galaxy City hotel with my husband, although we have been to Thassos 7+ times. As other customers have reported, the beds are rock hard and not comfy at all. It was nice to sleep in own bed last night!! We were in room 120 which is up 1 1/2 flight of stairs (no lift) and it only has a small triangular balcony with a table, 2 chairs and an airer and not enough room really to use. We were not given any instructions on how to use air-con, safe etc and we have travelled all over. (So, the air-con only works if you keep the balcony and bathroom doors closed and don't have it lower than 20 degrees and the key to the safe is located on the door key). We always handed in the key every day as it had the hotel name, room number and safe key on there. We found the owner Yiannis had his 'favourite' clients who he always spoke to, it was hit and miss with us to the point of blatantly being ignored even though we greeted him. His staff (3 young females) were wonderful and couldn't do enough for you and were always friendly. The hotel and grounds are spotlessly clean with fresh bedding and towels everyday. There is a lovely aroma in reception area (bit like the Hollister shop smell 😊). Plenty of parking if you hire a car. Breakfast can be taken inside or out and is plentiful. …

Second time here at the Galaxy hotel. Stunning hotel, beautifully kept, friendly staff. Honestly the Tripadvisor photos need updating as new pool and sun beds make it so luxurious. Delicious fresh breakfast everyday with lots of choice, main town and beaches only 10 min stroll. Only complaint would be the hard as nails mattress but I got used it by end of holiday. If you don’t know Thassos island we have been coming for 14 years. Thassos town is a great base to hire a car and get out and about and the Galaxy offers a chilled out pool at end of day! Try visiting Metallia beach in Limenaria, Etties beach/ bar in Skala Prinos wheee for the price of a drink you get sun beds and parasols with views and lots of space between!! Amazing restaurants in Thassos town and if you are a coffee lover try Espresso juicy bar ( down one of the little streets) for the best espresso in the world! …

We stayed at this hotel.last year. We loved it so much, we booked again for this year. Last year we had a pool view. This year, the garden and mountain view. Both are amazing. The rooms are beautifull. The hotel itself Is decorated with amazing furniture. Immaculately kept. Towels and bed linen are changed daily. Pool is quiet during the day. Which is a bonus. Close to town, the port and a lovely beach. It literally has it all. The owner Yannis and his wife are so welcoming. Treated us like family. We were very spoilt. Yannis could not have done any more for us. Love love love this hotel and the people that work there. Definitely going back again. Great holiday. Didnt want to leave.

We were initially a little disappointed to find that our room was on the ground floor, with an open patio area shared by three or four rooms, I like to sit out on the balcony and read - preferring some privacy. However, the room was shady and cool during the hot weather, afforded two entry doors and had nice easy access to the pool. The room was good, with excellent air conditioning and a safe. Unfortunately the bed was rock hard and it took me three days to get a reasonable night’s sleep. A mattress topper would have solved this. The pool was fabulous and all common areas were spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good, with excellent scrambled eggs, bread, Greek pastries, yogurt and honey, cheese, salami, sliced oranges etc Some additional fruit would have been nice but no complaints. The greeting at breakfast was friendly however we found the chap who manned the bar to be rather selective. Sometimes he spoke and other times he blanked us -even when we spoke to him! We holiday 2/3 times a year in Greece and have never encountered anything quite like it. That said, we had a lovely holiday, we would recommend the Galaxy and would stay there again if we returned to Thassos.…

Beautiful well maintained hotel. Spotless inside and out. Yiannis and Poppy really great people. Breakfast typically Greek but fresh each morning. The scrambled eggs are lovely and you can go and get as much as you want. Rooms lovely and clean and towels and bathroom mats changed everyday. They used to offer small lunch menu for if you stayed by the pool, but at the moment this option is not available. There is a bakery a small stroll away sell pies pastries and some sub rolls as well as drinks etc. Yiannis doesn't mind you taking it back and sitting on your patio or balcony to eat it. Thank you both for a wonderful stay. Hope your Mum is keeping ok Poppy.

We stayed here for 2 weeks with our 15 month old daughter and we found the hotel to be of an excellent standard. The hotel has been refurbished and it feels very luxurious compared to other places we have stayed in Thassos over the several years we have been coming. Rooms cleaned regularly with fresh towels every 2 days. Pool area is lovely, quiet. Yianni the owner is friendly and always around to help if you need anything. Breakfast is included and is well stocked - eggs, cheese pie, spinach pie, salad, fruit, toast, cereal, pastries, meats, coffee etc. This came in very handy with a toddler as we could load her up on breakfast before taking a walk down to the beach so we was not hungry again for a good few hours! Another bonus is you don't get charged extra for the use of the air con or room safe!…
