We went to the Vasilikos Beach Hotel at end of season for a quiet, relaxing break, and that's exactly what we got. We stayed as B & B guests, and every morning enjoyed a good selection of fresh food in their Continental buffet. A full...More

Hello! It very much depends on what you want to do. There is no need at all to have a car, we used ours pretty infrequently. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel there are, three great traditional tavernas, one distinctly average one (Koukis) but it has a great view! Several snack bars and beach shacks. the hotel does good snacks and simple meals too. There are two small but well equipped supermarkets and a tourist gift shop. You can walk to several beaches. inculding Banana Beach which is my favorite more lively beach or there are some smaller simpler more unspoilt beaches, Plaka being two minutes from the hotel. St Nicolas beach, directly behind the hotel has some lively beach bars, we found it too noisy but it's a personal thing, you get free sunbeds here as the hotel owner also owns one of the beach bars. This is definitely not a party resort but there you could easily stay up and be entertained until say midnight and the bar at the hotel is lovely of an evening and we had a couple of lively nights there after being out to eat, the bar will stay open until the small hours if you want to but it isn't noisy so don't worry, generally people here are looking for a relax! There was a good mix of clientele, some families, some couples and a few small friendship groups. Personally, I would ask for a top floor room, tiled floors you see. We had a room that overlooked the back, sort of over a garden, limited sea view, very limited! But we found that to be quiet. If you want a good sea view then you need top floor in the block where reception and the breakfast room are. I wouls avoid ground floor next to pool unless you intend being up early with peoples kids and late with the bar but a dutch group who were there loved it as they could step out of their room and straight to the pool and you always have loungers on your patio bit so as I say, each to their own. You will need lots of cash though as there is only one cash machine, about 20 minutes walk from the hotel and it is a terrible exchange rate. Lots of places to get to on foot. hope that helps? If youwant more details then feel free to message me and I can help, been to the area 3 times and love it and when we go back next year I would stay at this hotel aagin. Slight problem with wasps in tthe morning but it's a great spot, clean, lovely staff, etc. Enjoy!

We booked direct with the owners only then will u get get the air con, breakfast and safe included in your stay. You will have to pay separately for the extras now as you booked through a travel agent. If you want a really good deal it's always worth going direct to the owners. The downside is you are not covered with Atol protection.
