The hotel has great views from the restaurant and bar. Our rooms were clean and we had a balcony overlooking the garden. We had an airco and a heater. Good vegetarian food choices for dinner and breakfast. The fresh oranges were very sweet. Price is very good.

My inlaws live in the village of alte within ten mins walking distance of this hotel. When we visit we always put aside at least one afternoon or an evening to eat a meal here as a family. The children are always welcomed and catered for. The food is excellent, I've never eaten a bad meal here. My favourite being...

We stayed at Alte Hotel in May last year when we were walking the Via Algarviana and returned on Saturday night for one night (we paid 31 Euros for two). We really like the hotel despite it being a little dated. The biggest problem for us was there was only a single power point in the bedroom; with an iPad,...

We spent 2 nights at the Alte Hotel, enjoying the quality food and the friendly, helpful staff. Clearly, the low season had set in by mid-November with few guests and early nights. I was happy to hear and spot two little owls in a nearby tree from our balcony at dusk. Room was very spacious and good though not up...

Alte is a nice small town in the countryside of Algarve quite away from the sea. The hotel is the only one in that area –its worth for the peaceful ambience and the panoramic view. As a hotel it doesn’t have anything special to point out; it’s just an average hotel already quite dated.

Did not stay at this place but had a lovely lunch there. I was with a group visiting the area. The hotel had wonderful views, but there are a lot of steps. Had a walk around the river which is a must for everyone visiting Alte.

Just got back after spending two weeks here and we loved it. We always stayed on the coast before so being inland was a new experience for us but the hotel and the stunning scenery made it for us. The location is remote so hiring a car is a must if you want to explore but there is a village...

Having just returned from a week in Late hotel I feel I can only describe our visit as faultless! Every aspect of our stay from the food to the helpfulness of the staff exceeded all expectations. The hotel is without doubt nestled in one of the most beautiful locations in Portugal and every evening we enjoyed our meal with the...
