This is a hotel with a very good location on the Indian Ocean. It is isolated from the outside world in the coastal forest and has double security checkpoints. There are also guards on the beach to ensure that no unauthorised persons enter the hotel. (And there are plenty of unauthorised people wandering the beach.) We were accommodated in a beach house, the four children were in the family suite of the ground floor, my wife and I in the upstairs suite, which is spacious and comfortable. The huge terrace in overlooking the ocean, it's worth every penny. The only annoying thing is - like most places in Kenya - you have to watch out for the monkeys, you can't leave the door open, you have to lock up at night, although sleeping with the sound of the waves of the ocean is sublime. The hotel pool is not big, but the kids enjoyed it. The water is deep, 5 metres deep in one part, not for bathing. The hotel provides the half board service a la carte, the choice on the menu is large but the quality of the food is poor, seafood was not cooked properly on several occasions. Service is very slow, a breakfast or dinner could take two hours or more and there were not many guests. The staff are kind and helpful, they looked after our children. Since the monkeys are constantly stealing, they almost all have a slingshot to scare them with. They obviously do their best to make sure the guests have a good time. All in all: the location is great, our accommodation was excellent, the hotel is a great place to stay, the restaurant is a problem, both in service and quality of food. Four of our family had stomach upset there, three children had fevers. But the kids would gladly return.

A good stay though I would not say it is a boutique hotel. Facilities: The pool was a nice area to chill, has a dive section that is super deep if you fancy that type of thing, as well as a dive school. The beach restaurant has amazing views, and a lovely setup. The beach beds are few so you need to "book" your early. Rooms: Stayed in a standard room, they are clean but abit aged. Also, we found the rooms thin walled, so you can hear loud neighbors. I recommend to be on the upstairs floor, or in the stand alone suites. Service: This was OK, can be improved, some areas weren't adequately manned. Food: Amazing, this made the stay worth it. Walk-in guests come to the beach restaurant especially on weekends and it can get busy so plan for that. Highlights: The strip of beach is amazing, vast white sandy beaches, world class. A special shout out to Jamila (mixologist extraordinaire), Suleiman (always made our restaurant experience great), and Susan (for pulling strings to make our stay better).

This beautiful resort has a pristine beach front 10 to 15 minutes away from the Ukunda airport. If you're flying in from Nairobi to diani, it would serve you better to fly into Ukunda airport rather than Mombasa airport. MOMBASA Airport is almost 2hrs drive away from diani. We stayed in a ocean view suite on the full board option. If you want to stay at this resort, I would recommend getting the ocean view suite or something better that is the only way to truly enjoy the beauty of this property. The hotel has 1 main restaurant and a pool bar area. The Nomad beach bar was great. The food and ambience were great but there were always too many flies. I know its expected with outdoor dining. I had a spa package that included a scrub and a massage. The scrub was everything. Gave my skin a certain glow and evenness that made my vacation pictures glow. Whatever that scrub was, they should bottle it up and sell it. I'll buy it by the truckload. The staff were very welcoming and eager to assist anyhow they can. My friend noticed one of the staff had braided her hair and asked how she could get the same thing done. Not only did she give directions, She arranged our taxi to the salon for my friend to get her braids done with maximum convenience. Samsung at the front desk is absolutely brilliant. Very helpful with any specific plans you might have. Moses at the the Indulge wine cellar is also fantastic. Overall I had an amazing stay but I rated 4 because of the swimming pool. Its a really small pool compared to what you see in the pictures and it doesn't help that there's a hideous structure right in the middle if the pool obstructing a few good laps.

As soon as arrived, we were greeted very warmly by the Management team, and it pretty much set the tone for the 3 nights we spent there. The service at the hotel, the restaurants (Nomad & Riva's) both were excellent. The location is spot on, they are have a water sports centre right next to Nomad for the more adventurous. We just chilled out on the beach and the pool. The marine education centre is also a good 1 hour for the kids. I would definitely recommend this place.
