Embraced by the verdant, rolling hills of the Messinian countryside, a unique vacation retreat is designed to offer you a truly unforgettable holiday experience. Here you will enjoy the area’s lush natural surroundings from well-appointed accommodations. The Kosyforema villas are for nature’s true lovers who want to enjoy their holidays close to nature, far from ordinary. The name Kosyforema roughly translates to “gorge of birds”, in reference to the small gorge at the base of the hill that is home to an indigenous species of birds called “kosyfes”. Spring, Summer and Autumn days are graced by the gentle yet enchanting singing of these birds, creating paradise on earth. The absence of noises and images of modern life, yet the vicinity to everything you dream for your holiday, makes Kosyforema and its villas the ideal choice.

There are three small villas in this location, all with a very similar layout. We stayed in the three-bedroom Villa Pilos. The villas are a little way off the road up a narrow private drive and surrounded by olive trees. A sharp hairpin bend in the drive means that access to the top two villas would be tricky with a large car. The location is very peaceful and private but still only a very short drive from Gialova’s beachfront and tavernas. The balcony provides a lovely place to eat, with views down to Navarino Bay. The kitchen was adequately resourced for a group of two or four but would not have had sufficient utensils for six people. The villa is clearly designed for adult guests and is really not suitable for small children owing to the steps and relatively deep pool. We appreciated the maid service which was provided every three days and the pool was checked regularly early in the morning. The wifi was good and a minor problem with it was fixed within hours. The villas offer access to excellent local beaches, including the famous Voidokilia beach. There is a good, small, local supermarket and there are many interesting historical sites in the area including Nestor’s Palace and the excellent NeoKastro in Pylos. For those interested in wildlife, the Gialova lagoon is very close. This is one of the most important wetlands in Europe, with hundreds of migratory birds stopping there in spring and in autumn. In summary we had a lovely holiday in Villa Pilos and would certainly recommend it to others.

We had wanted an off-the-beaten track holiday, and this is exactly what we experienced. Although there are three villas in close proximity none of the houses are overlooked and the olive trees shield any noise and offer great seclusion. We stayed in the 2-bedroom villa, although set on a slope and looking like a house all the rooms were on one-level. The villa was spotlessly clean and very well-equipped. The iron was missing but Yiannis, the owner, bought a new one the day it was mentioned. We cannot praise the location enough as the area has so much to offer. A car is essential. There are many beaches to suit all tastes whether secluded, beach bar or sun-loungers with tavernas behind serving very good Greek cuisine. Magnificent waterfalls and cultural places to visit in addition to nearby towns offering a great variety. We stayed for three weeks and were never bored. The owner also has Eleonas Holiday Village which we visited, and the accommodation there too looks excellent and is within walking distance to Gialova. Gialova is a wonderful place to stay and we shall return without doubt

we stayed in a two bed villa up in the hills above Gialova. There was 3 separate villas. the villa was very private. the beds were really comfortable. The villa was very well equipped and clean but no washing machine. Would love to go back. lovely walk across the road to a waterfall and a half an hour walk to golden beach and 10 minutes to local supermarket

Stayed there 2 weeks with our 3 children this summer. Villas are juste perfect for our small family, an extra mattress was added by the owner for our youngest child. We had a wonderful time. Location is ideal for beaches and visits around Pylos, Methoni, Olympia, and even Mystras a couple hour of drive though. Swimming pool is just amazong when you get back from the beach. Gialova is only a couple minutes drive for restaurants.

we stayed here in June 2013. can't fault it. the villas there's 3 of them are tucked away half way up a hill and although you've got the other 2 villas they are very secluded from each other and you don't notice them. the pool is much bigger than the photos suggest and was lovely to take. dip in after a hot day at the beach. the view from the balcony us great too the villas are great for families and we stayed here with our 4 year old. the kitchen was much better equipped than previous villas we've stayed at. you are about 3/4 of a mile outside of gialova where there is many decent restaurants.
