We loved our stay at the Praepimpalai Spa & Resort so much! From the friendly receptionist to the beautifully designed room to the fabulous Thai massage, this resort has it all. We were lucky enough to meet Pu and Phruk, the absolutely lovely owners of the resort who made us feel like home. We definitely recommend staying in this beautiful resort, we can't wait to come back! Love, Matt and Jasi
The Praepimpalai is a small hotel (only four or five rooms) beside a nice swimming pool. Each room is themed quite differently and my room had a floor to ceiling wall of glass looking to the pool. During the day the tinted glass gives privacy ... but at night one must draw the curtains! Staff were helpful with maps and suggestions on sightseeing, but I did not try the spa or massages available.
Central Thailand has many hidden treasures - mostly thousands of years old and Kamphaengphet is no exception. But what is exceptional to this part of Thailand is this family owned and run Day spa. We've stayed here several times and love the friendly home like atmosphere, plenty of pampering and Massage! Try breaking up your journey to Chiang Mai and make this your half way stop over from Bangkok. Hire a driver from Bangkok and take your time - about 5 hours with a few stops - and find this gem to explore the old city and nearby provinces.
This is a very small hotel. It has a serene atmosphere with a soul soothing effect. The staff are friendly, the service is good, but the breakfast is basic. My room is of a reasonable size and the bed exactly the way I like it - firm and comfortable. The bathroom is adequate and the whole place is spotlessly clean. I will stay here again if the opportunity arises.
Still a good choice. The rooms are OK. The suite is much better. All the bathrooms have a slight bad smell coming out. Pillows are hard. Bed is OK Cleanliness is also OK Breakfast is average. Slippers they still give you RE-used!!! So, no thanks for me. Owner is super. Staff is below standard. They changed masseuses and the new ones do not know anything about a proper massage. The massage I had was bad.
I have stayed here on two different occasions out of the four times I visited Kampaeng Phet and this is trully one of the best hotels. It's small with a pension like feel and very easy to find from the big road. It's a place where you can relax and the room has a nice view of the swimming pool. The staff is very attentive. Rooms look good and the bed is comfortable, clean and with a nice duvet. Pillows are too hard. The bathroom needs some improvement. There is a light odor coming out from the drains and you notice it if you let the bathroom door closed. Otherwise it's not bothersome. The shower hose is short and cannot be adjusted high enough to stand below it. The corners need a little bit of cleaning, touch up. What I did not like is that they provide you with flip flop style slippers which were not new. Better give new cheap paper like slippers, than used good ones. They provide nice Thai massage, although you should be careful and tell them if they go too hard on you. Actually the "spa" is a massage and manicure. Breakfast is OK but after a few days it becomes repetitive. I would say, do not risk staying somewhere else. P.S. they can have you food delivered to your room if you do not want to go out for lunch or dinner.…
I have stayed here for 1 night. I've got the twin room pool view. Spotless clean room and bed sets. Very inviting swimming pool and friendly stuff. Breakfast is s bit limited to American breakfast or Jok but with added fruits and drinks. It's a small resort and breakfast is adequate to the size of it. Mattresses were a bit rough but nevertheless I slept well. Plenty of eateries nearby. I'll definitely come back.
We were using the resort for our family with two younger childs on our road trip to chiang mai for one night. The room was ok and staff was friendly - though it has some pretty "special" charm. Breakfast was pretty basic.
My family visited from England and we stayed here for three nights and were very impressed. The staff are friendly and attentive and the rooms are great, each room has it's own character and decor and I feel this makes a nice change from the formulaic rooms in most higher end hotels. Breakfast is adequate, the pool is lovely and overall it is great value for what you get. I would recommend this to anybody passing through the lovely place that is Kamphaengphet!
Stayed here for a night as a stopover on a drive from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. The rooms are all decorated differently and in different colours. I had the blue one at the end. I found the rooms to be spacious, nicely equipped, very clean and comfortable. If you are driving, it is a short walk from the parking area to the rooms. All in all, very good value for money, but the real standout was the friendly, helpful service that begins when you walk in the door. I arrived without a booking and was offered the choice of a rate that included breakfast, or no breakfast. I opted for no breakfast. The next morning, there was a knock on the door and the manager had a tray with a continental breakfast, including toast, fruit, orange juice and milk. She understood that I had not opted for breakfast and told me that this was complimentary. What a nice surprise and it shows how the management of this small inn will go out of their way to help customers feel at home. English is spoken by the management here. Praempimalai is easily reached from the main highway and it is across the river from Kapmphaeng Phet city. It isn't that easy to reach unless you have your own transport and dining options within walking distance are limited. While the resort does not have restaurant service, there is an excellent riverside restaurant about 600 meters away. Just across the road is a shop that sells very good BBQ chicken and papaya salad (som tum). Judging from the lunchtime crowd, it is very popular with locals. Highly recommended for a comfortable, inexpensive place to stay for a stopover or for exploring Kamphaeng Phet for several days, but best if you have your own transportation.…
