"Our family pioneered the premium class hotel in Kamphaeng Phet which opened in 1979 when there were only small motels housed in wooden commercial buildings offering fan cooled rooms," according to Chantrarat Damrongrat, the hotel’s second generation Managing Director. Immediately becoming the talk of the town Navarat Hotel provided air-conditioned accommodations to serve visitors to the historic
Good, clean hotel, nice room, but with a rock hard bed. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Good parking area for the car. A night market very close by, with great choices for food. Good choices for breakfast.
One of the bigger hotels in Kamphaeng Phet. Overall a pretty good choice for decent and comfortable accommodation in this heritage town. Breakfast comes with the room - but is a little bit basic. The rooms themselves are fine - comfortable beds with fresh decor and clean bathrooms. Wifi is also quite fast (and free!). The lifts can be a bit slow - so it's good to take the stairs when you can. On the fifth floor they have a small "museum" which has various vintage and old items that you can see from the outside. For those a bit superstitious perhaps avoid the room directly next to the museum (503)!
The plusses: Nice reception, Good, convenient parking, Good shower water pressure The minuses: Hard bed, Erratic air conditioning Pretty poor breakfast which included world record cold fried eggs and instant coffee.... ฿800 Would I come back; the jury's out..probably no.
This hotel is if typical of Thai standard. Cleanliness of the room was ok, very stiff beds however, no WiFi in the room (lobby only). We had Thai food dinner and this was pretty good. Breakfast Thai, not serving western breakfast. Hotel is ok for intermediate stops but don’t expect more. Probably the best available in Kampangh Phet.
Not the first time at this hotel. I've booked deluxe room and everything was ok. As it was low season, breakfast and snaks were bad....no choice and poor quality food not fresh. Also I've got an argument with the reception and this was unacceptable: they want me to pay an extra 500Baht for minor stain on the bedsheet, I didn't pay after personal failed to contact their boss. This is Thailand 30 years ago!
Good stop off point if you’re travelling north. Near the river and the large night market. Room very nice for the money, wi-fi, TV good. Shower power a bit weak. Pleasant dining room…breakfast was OK… usual Thai provincial hotel dodgy sausages and “plastic” ham. Would stay here again. Recommended.
We stopped here on the way south and needed a place to stay overnight. After driving around town a bit, the Navarat Hotel seemed to be the best option (there were not a lot of choices). It was fine but reminded me of a basic Holiday Inn in America - not a lot of charm. We could walk to the night market and had a great dinner there. Agree with another reviewer that the mattresses were super hard. Disagree with another reviewer as they helped us with our luggage. Overall a good place to stop for the night, but not a destination resort by any means.
This is the first time and certainly not the last time. Hotel has just been updated. Too bad the price was so high at the hotel. So I advise you to book through an agent's website. Location is really good. Less than 5 minutes you are at the "Mea Ping" river and the nightmark. Staff were ok, not the best and not really helpful. They do not help you to bring the suitcase to your room or to your car. Breakfast was well on.
Staff polite. Room good size. Shower water pressure very low. Pillow definitely needs to change. Air conditioning okay. Location very good with nite market just around the corner. Temple beside the hotel.
Stayed here for one night during a motorcycle tour of Thailand. The building is modern and centrally located with the night food market one block away. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is an elevator and the river view room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. Four large bottles of water were complimentary. The breakfast was adequate. The only negative aspect of this place had a huge impact on the quality of my sleep and that was the mattress. I woke up several times during the night. In the morning, I pulled back the sheet to visually confirm it was actually a mattress and not a wooden board. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this hotel if mattress stiffness is not a concern.
