For us this perfectly located campsite ticked all the boxes. As the Summer season runs down to Autumn, the site, which closes at the end of September, basked in beautiful sunny days and a gentle laid back atmosphere. Situated a comfortable drive from the overnight ferry to Ouistreham, it sits directly on the banks of the River Cher which provides...

We stayed on night in a tent close to the river and enjoyed tranquility. All the facilities were clean and not too far from any place on the site. Swimming pool next to the river. There is a restaurant and bar which we didn't try. Bred can be ordered for breakfast. You can even access the site when reception is...

We decided to visit again this year but instead of visiting all of the Chateaux's with my daughter, we decided just to relax on the site and enjoy the sunshine. We had an excellent pitch on the riverbank , the view was stunning, Spent all day sunning ourselves either around the pool or back at the rv. All of the...

All the good reviews were correct, this is a well run, clean campsite, great for families, good area for cycling, river alongside for fishing and canoeing - only a short distance from the chateau. Some live music and entertainment, but small and low key, bar and food on site. English owners very helpful and friendly, would go back there again.

Have used this site as stopover many times. Always friendly staff. Large pitches. The only problem I had was the bitting insects. They may have been mosquitoes just know I had bites everywhere. My pitch was right by the river so that might explain it. Otherwise excellent stay.

As quite seasoned 'off-road' campers, we picked this campsite for our first foreign camping trip as parents with our 17 month old son. Being used to no facilities and being off the beaten track, we were nervous about how busy a family site would be but we were really pleasantly surprised. This is a lovely family run site with just...

Friendly English run site with reasonable sized open pitches on the banks of the River Cher a short distance from the Chenonceau Chateau. We visited end August and the site was very quiet. The site restaurant was good value and we ate their 3 course menu on our first night. For simplicity we ate there the following evening and found...

A friendly site by the river just a 15 minute walk (along the river) from Chateau Chenonceu. Actually if you want visit the Chateau it's a longer walk as you have to cross the river and walk along the cycle track on the other side (allow about 1/2 hour). The chateau's a beautiful site in the evening as the sun...

Whilst most of the issues listed in other reviews are correct to a greater or lesser extent, this must surely be one of the best located campsites in the Loire region: Chenonceux is on the doorstep, Amboise & Chaumont are both only a short hop, Loches, Zoo de Beauval, and Cheverney are not very far, and Blois, Chambord, Villandray, Azey...

This was our Third year using this site, but this time was as a stopover on route to and from Bordeaux. We were given a pitch on the river (the one we had last year) which i was not expecting as we were stopping only two nights, as usual the facillities were excellent as were the restuarant / bar and pool,(our...
