Unfortunately I haven't visited this b&b yet. I was looking for a b&b near Easingwold in Yorkshire and this one appeared on the list for nearby Aldwark. As there is also an Aldwark in Derbyshire, which is where Lydgate Farmhouse is situated, this could cause some confusion! I hope the owners can get this listing corrected. I've given it 5...

There's a fine line with B&B between feeling like you're staying in a spare room vs staying in a hotel and this place treads it impeccably The perfect host, room, bathroom, breakfast all perfect and most importantly with character We will return for a longer visit

To wake up in the morning to hear only birdsong and a distant crowing cock is a rare experience. The farm is in the peaceful hamlet of Aldwark and can be reached via a long quiet lane climbing up from Grangemill. Not even a nearby quarry seems to spoil the sense of rural calm. The farmhouse is a traditional stone...

I stayed here with my father for a night. Jenny made us so welcome in her beautiful traditional farmhouse. The location was so peaceful and remote but not too far from the nearest village with pub (2 miles). The food was scrumptious and the rooms were perfect and extremely comfortable. If you like walking and beautiful views, this is the...

Without a shadow of a doubt, I will be...

Arrived in the midst of massive family wedding arrangements (on the actual farm) but was still welcomed with such warmth by Jenny & Ian. As planned, we stayed two nights and left knowing how to bake the best ever scones and produce golden rasperry jam! Our room had a charming outlook, was warm, clean and very comfortable. All in all...

Tired & thirsty after a day's trekking, Jenny greeted us with a freshly brewed pot of tea & some wonderful homemade lemon cake... but then that wasn't all that was memorable about Lydgate Farm. The beds in the family room we'd booked were the comfiest I've ever experienced away from home, the en suite bathroom was cosy with a heated...

The Lydgatre farm gave us by far the warmest welcome we've received from any hotel/guest house for a long time. The owner was relaxed and easy going keen to meet our needs and ensure we had the best possible stay. It's a real farm atmosphere and will definately try to stay there again the next time we're near Derby ......
