Sports bar vibe, very clean and good bartender. Stopped in long enough to have a pint before moving on down the road. Did not see the rooms, but if they are as clean as the bar and bathrooms I would be fine with them.
Was in town mid July visiting family and friends, therefore we decided to check out this place based upon the reviews read on trip advisor. The establishment is fine to have a drink at with buddies as the ambiance is your typical old school Irish pub. However, this is not a place to overnight at as the rooms and its associated amenities are not up to the mark at all for the amount charged for the night. The reviews submitted by Ms Anushae P in particular are suspectful and extremely misleading !
We stayed here while looking around northern Co Kerry. An olde worlde Irish pub, that disappointingly didn't do food but the welcome from Angela was friendly. A spacious room awaited us but the mattress was saggy and lack of TV was welcome. A shared kitchen was a plus, as was a comfortable TV lounge with a bookcase full of great reads. No breakfast but coffee/tea and toast was available. The bed wasn't the most comfortable we had her slept in, but it was adequate. The decor was tired, and the furniture a bit past its best, but it was perfectly ok as a stop over. There was good wifi and the boosters had recently been repositioned to ensure good connectivity throughout.
I would recommend this place for couples and families. I really appreciated the friendly and gracious outlook of the hosts but most importantly the accommodation is good value for money in the area. I would definitely stay here again if I am passing through!
Best value for money for a comfortable room in the area- Only 30 euros for a single room! Fully equipped kitchen to cook your own dinner too. I stayed in room 5 which was very spacious and clean. The people/hosts really make the difference...
