We were on a road trip with a family and ended up in Võru by the evening. We decided to choose hotel Tamula because of the location - right next to Lake Tamula. Well, we kind of regretted it when we saw the room. Despite the fact we were just staying one night, it was not a good experience. The tired look of the room and the furniture we could have forgiven but there was also a weird smell and the cleaning staff could have done a bit better job. Yes, the room was quite large and the view towards the lake was great but it seemed like the management has already given up. Something that the hotel cannot influence was the noise (as it's right beside a public beach) but it was surprising that it was that noisy on a cold evening after the beach season has ended. The party noise was on until well after midnight. So you have to consider it, especially during the summer. Breakfast was matching the whole experience - lame and very limited - and this was served in a very cramped area. I cannot imagine how the quests are served if the hotel is full because people were waiting for a seating even during our visit (which was off-season). So all in all nothing good to say besides a nice location. Hopefully the place will soon be renovated and managed better because it is an excellent property in a prime location but until then you should find some other place to stay in Võru.…
Very nice place, big and comfortable room, friendly personal. Free Wi-Fi, big bathroom, no A/C, big TV, free parking We’re traveling through Estonia and it was a just one night stop here, but we were very pleased to spend time in the Hotel Tamula
Been booking this for our business guests for years now and all guests have been always contented with provided service. In summertime a great plus is Lake Tamula promenade right behind the hotel :) Do recommend.
Hotel is located in public beach. If weather is hot lot of people around. Sitting in nearby your room windows (ground floor) Summertime during the weekend there are disco clubs nearby - sleeping like in disco club. Rooms are without air conditioners, windows cannot be open.
Hotel in the middle of public beach. Clean and renovated but Poor room conditions - no air conditioning and no fresh air. In the middle of noisy nightlife. Strange bathroom. Poor breakfast, careless service. Never go back with such price and quality ratio.
Room is very basic. The so called "lobby" are two sofas. Breakfast room is ugly and breakfast poor. Staff is very young and unexperienced, although nice and friendly. It is a pity to see such a potentially nice building going to the dogs, with wallpaper peeling and dirty shades.
I cannot review the hotel as I did not succeed in booking. However, I tried to book a room and would like to warn about the booking system or the lack therefor. Namely, I made a booking thru their internet booking system, got a confirmation of reservation via e-mail and later another e-mail asking for some specifics of my stay. Then, a week later, when I answered the e-mail, I was immediately replied that unfortunately they did not have any availability this time! In reply to my confused inquiry, received an e-mail blaming the 'carelessness of the other shift of employees' in double-booking and a a confirmation that my confirmation of booking was in fact worthless and I had no room ... So, I obviously did not go!
Nice location, friendly service but the room was not clean. Sheets were dirty and shades were probably never cleaned.
We were booked into this hotel as the only other hotel in Voru was full. We were there to watch our son play football. We were checked in for two nights but checked out after one. I am abut fussy when it comes to hotels but this would have been a two star in England. Beds were campbeds pushed together, one pillow each decor seen better days. No restaurant or bar. Breakfast ended up a piece of toast as lots if flies but travelling round Estonia this seems the norm. The view of the lake was magnificent and staff were really helpful all spoke English. We
Nice view from room overlooking beach and lake. Fairly basic rooms, reasonable price and clean. Good breakfast, though quite Estonian. Coffe and expresso were very good.
