Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place to stay! Everything was very clean and the staff was very helpful. We stayed 5 nights in a cabin with a bathroom and a sauna so we didn’t use the common facilities but according to other guests, everything was spotless. This is a good place to have as your base camp also if you’re planning to explore the beautiful fjords on the Norwegian side of the border. If you enjoy fishing, you’ll be pleased to see that the resort is located right on the shore of the famous Teno salmon river (please check the required permits and fishing restrictions) and not too far away from the fishing spots in Norway, ask the staff for recommendations!

Great place to stay! Very welcoming hosts and they’re super helpful too. I stayed in one of the new chalets and they’re done up to a Very high standard, overlooking the river so it’s very quiet. There’s a restaurant on site and a supermarket nearby. Recommend the place as it’s very good value for money, the information packs in the rooms are extensive and detailed and you can book a lot of activities through the owners. The place to stay in Nuorgam for sure and it’s a good base to organise road trips from.

Thanks to Marjatta, Raimo, and the wonderful staff at Nuorgam Holiday Village for making our family Christmas vacation enjoyable and unforgettable. Every person that was part of the staff was friendly, attentive, helpful, and accommodating. The Nuorgam Holiday Village has a variety of winter activities that will appeal to almost everyone. Whenever the weather conditions did not allow to do certain activities, the staff would go out of their way to have different options. Some of the winter activities provided also gave us an insight to the Sami culture. If you want to experience a great winter safari with a personal touch, we highly recommend this family-owned business.

We spend four nights in Nuorgam and really enjoyed our stay in Nuorgam Holiday Village. We had luxorius cottage and everything in there was perfect, sauna, king size bed and small kitchen. And the most amazing was the view to Teno river. This is great place to explore the amazing nature of the most northern part of Finland. We enjoyed for example the Skaidijärvi trail and Ailigas trail in Utsjoki. It's three kilometers to border of Norway so it's easy to visit Norway and to see the spectacular views of Norway.

We got excellent service, the personnel was really friendly. Our apartment with sauna was spacious, comfort and clean. There were free bikes and equipment for leisure time activities. Restaurant meals and breakfast were delicious. The only negative thing were mosquitos outside, a few also inside (perhaps came with us when the door was open). I definitely recommend this place!

I cannot rate the Holiday Village in Nuorgam highly enough!! It was beyond amazing!!! My husband and I stayed in a superior cabin for our honeymoon and the accommodation was fantastic! We were able to see Northern Lights out our bedroom window!! The staff at this facility is unparalleled- the guides were very knowledgeable, the food was amazing, and everyone was super kind! We cannot wait to plan a trip back!! I would recommend staying here to anyone!!

We spent only a night there in a cabin which was modern and nice. Also booked the sauna which was lovely. Only minuses: The owner didn't seem to care about the pandemic since he didn't have any mask on and he kept caughing towards us when we checked in. The pizza-like pies (?) we ordered were not worth 15 euros each, but perhaps it is understandable hence the location.

Covid-19 times forced us (two couples in a rented mobile home) to stay on the Finnish side of the river Teno instead of continuing our journey to Norway & Barents Sea. But I don't complain; we stayed two nights here and enjoyed the scenery, good food, sauna etc. Friendly staff, toilets & showers tidy, everything pretty uncomplicated. Plus it's just a 10 minute walk (or 2-3 minutes with a free bicycle) to the nearest grocery store/liquor store. If I ever happen to go up north again, I'll certainly stay again.

We booked this on our recent northern Finland and Norway trip. Everything went very well, and our late check in was accomodated. We were even upgraded to a larger room with a sauna. The apartments were very clean and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately we don’t have experience of the breakfast. However, the kitchen in the apartment had everything we needed (minus a dishwasher).

Nuorgam Holiday Village (also known as Nuorgamin Lomakeskus) has a very beautiful riverside location. They have many accommodation types: apartments, summer cottages, superior cabins and a remote wilderness cabin. We had a superior cabin (also known as rantamökki) but I would call it a semi-detached riverside villa. This review is based on it. So we had a superior cabin with river view. It was excellent but cheaper than a hotel room in a normal hotel. I really recommend it. It is much better than other cabin or cottage types. Superior cabins are very new. They were completed in December 2019. Actually they are semi-detached villas (40 square meters each). We had a living room with a sofa bed, a bedroom with very high beds, a kitchenette, a bathroom, an own electric sauna and a furnished terrace (or a balcony) with river view. We also had plenty of storage place, a fireplace and an electric shoe dryer. The decor of the villa was modern style from Lapland. We had large windows facing the river. The scenery was beautiful. It was possible to see the midnight sun directly from our villa! The restaurant of Nuorgam Holiday Village is situated only 100 meters from the villa. The restaurant is the most northern cafeteria-restaurant in the European Union! There is also a nice playground between the villa and the restaurant. Besides, they have a Lapp hut for a campfire almost next to the villa. There is a bus stop in front of the holiday village. We took a bus from Rovaniemi to this holiday village. A quite big grocery store named K-market Rajamarket is situated less than one kilometre from the holiday village. There are good opportunities for fishing, (mountain) biking, hiking and trekking near the holiday village. We walked towards Fell Baikabollochokka. The path starts right across the street next to the traffic sign of the holiday village. Views were amazing. There are also longer hiking trails very near. Nuorgamin Postipolku Trail starts 300 meters from the holiday village and the very beautiful Skaidijärvi Trail 1.5 kilometres from the holiday village. After the check-out we booked a transfer from the holiday village to the southern point of Lake Pulmankijärvi. From there we started our four-day hike across Kaldoaivi Wilderness Area (read separate TripAdvisor reviews) to the village of Sevettijärvi.
